Which type of Thinsulate in Mares Comfort Shell undergarment

Hello, I am thinking about purchasing a Mares (by Mobby's) Comfort Shell undergarment, and I would like to know which type of Thinsulate 400 material it contains. Apparently, "type B" Thinsulate 400 has somewhat better properties than other Thinsulate 400 types, so this is what I am looking...

    1950s Dacor valve gasket/washer/o-ring

Hi all, I have an old Dacor 1/2" taper J-valve of the type that was apparently used with a teflon washer in place of a proper o-ring at the valve face to regulator interface. The problem is that I am missing just such a washer. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement or whether there...

    Barbados, 21 August - 1 September

Hi all, I will be visiting Barbados for a little over a week and would love to get in some diving (despite my tight budget). If any locals would be interested in meeting up with me that would be great. As for my skill level, I am an active science diver at the University of Miami and have...

    x-shorts? whos got 'em?

I ran across the ebay deal independently and almost started a redundant thread about it. I did a quick scan of forums and as usual everything worth saying has been said before. Except perhaps: they seem to be out of size L, which is unfortunate. Depending on the wetsuit I may or may not always...

    Half Turned Valve

Wow, in just three of years diving I've been through most of this! This is what I was told in 2003: the quarter turn is a thing of the past, don't do it. Within a year or so a friendly DM thought my "not quarter-turn-off" tank must be off (which is wasn't) and "corrected" that for me...

I just discovered this thread and may be able to come as well. Could someone summarize the current plan in a single message? Twenty-odd pages of posts are somewhat confusing. -Klaus

    Lbts 9:00 8/28/04

Slow down - I'm not sure I'll make it. I've got the tough choice of (1) free beer and poker tonight vs. (2) getting up early and diving tomorrow. Hmmm ... -Klaus

I need help! (more than u can imagine)

The most important, in fact, the ONLY important features are current depth, bottom time, and ascent rate. You can get an instrument that does that for $150 and safely do everything else in your head. Alternatively, you can spend much much more money on an instrument with all sorts of bells and...

    Fin Recommendations?

Fin performance has nothing to do with currents. When you are in a current, you move with the current. Think of it as a conveyor belt: when you are on a conveyor belt, whatever the conveyor belt does, you do as well. What kind of running shoes are good on a fast conveyor belt? The same kind that...

Why does DIR reject quick disconnects?

Think about it this way: if there are buckles, they might break - if there aren't any buckles, they can't. Since there is no real advantage to having buckles, why add something that might break? -Klaus
