Anyone here use the GoPro HERO3 LCD Touch Bacpac while diving?

I'll add that the hard back flexes enough that the camera is useless deeper than about 180 FSW. It's not flooding, but there is enough pressure on the screen to where the camera doesn't operate correctly. I am going to replace it with one of the Golem Gear housings.

dry gloves - help me find....

I have heard of people using some of the stiffer coffee-stirrer straws underneath the seal on seal to provide a means for the glove to equalize a bit with the suit. I assume it would be the stiff variety. Haven't tried it myself; I use DUI Zip gloves.

Hawaii Wreck Diving New Years Resolution

For the Big Island, in addition to the wrecks in Kailua Bay (The Naked Lady and The Predator) and the Airplane wreck by the KOA airport there are a couple of wrecks / debris fields at Mahukona: The steamship Kauai, and the anchors and debris from the Empire. The latter you would be better off...

Casey McKinlay reviews his new favorite DiveWear - our Xm250

That would summarize it pretty succinctly for the way I use the two undergarments. I find the XM250 more comfortable, but do like the ability to chuck the fleece into a washer when traveling (keeps the dive buddies happier if birds don't fall out of the sky when I climb out of my drysuit at the...

Casey McKinlay reviews his new favorite DiveWear - our Xm250

I have both, and use them in different environments. The XM250 is something I use here at home (73F-77F water) for long (> 2hr) dives; I use the 300 in, e.g. FL caves (68F-72F). The polar fleece is easier to take care of when traveling (for me, anyway). I also find that the XM250 is warmer...

    Best Anti-Fog for tec divers

I'd avoid it. Here's the MSDS: https://www2.itap.purdue.edu/msds/docs/7756.pdf I've had good luck with this: Bausch & Lomb™ FogShield Sport™ Products Also have had reasonable luck with dilute baby shampoo (though "dilute" is the keyword here...)

CNS% Surface Interval Credit & NOAA Oxygen Exposure Limits

Ah - where do those magic numbers come from, anyway? Turns out according to NOAA you're allowed 1440 OTUs in a day (O2 at 1.0 ATA for a 24 hour period). The recommended maximums in the tables come from leaving enough OTUs to tolerate a USN TT6 recompression session. A TT6 is approximately 600...

CNS% Surface Interval Credit & NOAA Oxygen Exposure Limits

ResidCNS = exp(-0.0077 * SIinMin) * CNS In other words, assuming a 90 minute halftime, you can calculate your residual CNS exposure by the exponential function listed above, where SIinMin is your surface interval in minutes. Exponential means e raised to the power of x: Euiler's number...
