    DG05 Discontinued?

Stay away from that computer. It was a nightmare for me before I sent it back to Hollis for good. Buy a Shearwater. You won't be disappointed. ---------- Post added April 23rd, 2013 at 10:02 PM ---------- Here is the posting from East Coast Divers FB page: "The Hollis DG05 204.2362 (OC/TX) and...

    DG05: October 2012 Release Model

The firmware update is not available for users to do on their own. In fact, the warranty specifically states that if you manually flash the firmware you void the warranty. Tech Support said I could do it, but if I turned it into a brick- it was on me. [LIMITATIONS Warranty does not extend to...

    DG05: October 2012 Release Model

Hollis Gear Nick, That's all fine and good to recognize there was a major quality control issue four months after the fact. What you don't understand is that this issue prevented me from enjoying my sport for four months and incurred four trips to the local quarries (which is not free) to...

Any idea if the Petrel will get a similar app for Droid phones?

    Petrel 20ft safety stop?

The Atomic Cobalt is under recall. I'd personally stay away from that one. I love my Petrel. If recreational divers want to purchase, then go for it as long as they understand the true purpose of the computer. Certainly, any of the puck computers under $500 will do just fine for managing two gases.

    DG05: October 2012 Release Model

The end to my story was that my LDS held a teleconference to share my support emails and the video of the recent issue (battery not holding a charge). Hollis refused to concede that this issue warranted more of their attention. Imagine that! No recall, no email out to users, etc. Maybe I did get...

    DG05: October 2012 Release Model

Unfortunately, my DG05 is now dead. It won't hold a charge and resets. I am returning it. I was able to set my three gases a few days ago but it will not even power on long enough to sustain a usage charge. I am at a loss for appropriate words at this point.

    DG05: October 2012 Release Model

Here's the resolution: My firmware is the wrong version. I have 2.11 and the latest (what SHOULD HAVE BEEN shipped) is 2.14. Let's also clarify that Hollis won't pay for me to ship it to them, not a big deal. But Shearwater does do that thype of thing. Hopefully, the firmware correction will...

    DG05: October 2012 Release Model

@ Nick- Thanks for the feedback. Glenn from Customer Service has forwarded my request on the temperature issue to the factory techs to determine if there is something else going on. Customer service for this has been quick and responsive. I am concerned that the software in XP crashes with this...

    DG05: October 2012 Release Model

I plan to bring the computer out to the local quarry this weekend with three gases (32/36/32), with a MOD of 91 feet. I will post up my reaction to the functioning of this computer on Sunday night. I think that after reviewing the manual a forth time and watching the video sessions again, I am...

For all that's holy, would somebody have VR Technology revise the operator's manual?

I have to agree with you on the manual being in need of updating. Most of the hyperlinks to the VR tech pages are incorrect. That being said, I also found the videos on DiveNav to be very general in nature. My question to Hollis would be- how hard is it to update the manual?

    DG05: October 2012 Release Model

I have several questions to ask on the forum and hopefully those of you already using this dive computer can help me better understand how to work the manual and the videos to my advantage. I have already contacted customer service and even sent an email to David Burroughs (sorry Nick Hollis-...
