I have been dying to get back out to the lake since mid summer. I miss diving but with 100+ degree weather, I can't deal with getting in/out of the 13mm wetsuit (multi layers) I need to feel warm in the water (I either cook in the sun or freeze in the depths....). :) For the rest of this...

So if I understand the system right, you just thread the cable through those little loops and it just "sits there" (the cable isn't actually clamped to anything)? Much like a pin in a door hinge, when you pull the pin, the hinge separates?

dohh...knew I forgot to do something! Turns out Tempe sales has both 600 and 1000. I got a yard of 1000 for ~$10 today.

update: As much as I like this knife, the stupid "finger grips" really ticked me off (actually hurt when using the knife). Because they are at that "one size fits all" spacing, they don't fit my hands. Easy solution, grind them off. 10mins with the grinder and some sand paper, wala...

I keep reading about people having EMT Shears. Are these "different kinds" or do I just go type in EMT Shears in Google and buy whichever pair comes up?

Yeah I have read about people using steak knives but I would rather have a little "tougher" knife. Steak knives work for eating but I would feel better with some more steel (mass) in the blade to keep it from bending/flexing/breaking.

I'm looking to get a knife and need suggestions. Something in the $50-$100 range. I do not like folding knives (prefer a sheathed knife) and it will need to be something I can put on the webbing of my BP/Wing setup. No "toy knives" but not looking for a mechete either, just something big...

So I'm an idiot, left my hood folded up in my bag, and now it has a crease in it. Is there any way to "work" it out or am I just screwed? :dontknow:

Thanks, yeah I just went out to American Airlines site and read their baggage section. $100 and you have to remove the valve (which now you need the tank cleaned all over again when you get there), that's just not worth the trouble. Guess I'll be buying a DIN-to-yoke adapter.

I'm really close to getting a PST steel HP100 (local guy is selling it) for my own personal use (plan to have it oxygen cleaned then use it for either CLEAN AIR and Nitrox). I have a DIN reg which makes renting tanks a pain. Once I have this nice little tank, the thought of leaving it behind...
