One of my MK20 regs started whistling like a locomotive when pressurized, it also looses air through the ambient chamber holes. I know that happens when the HP 010 oring is not in a good shape , i.e too soft. This particular reg is on of my “cheap rebuild” regs which I did not use a proper kit...
Hi everyone,
I had some leftover 109 with many parts missing - a diaphragm, purge cover, adjustment knob, lever and the orifice also had a bunch of nicks on it. The case was in a good shape however.
I finally decided to dig through my parts box and try to make something working out of it...
Hi guys,
I have a quick question for knowledgable Scubapro servicemen :) Will older MK17/19 kit work for MK17 Evo ? Or I need a newer Evo kit.
I have a few mk17 kits and would like to confirm that they will work before taking the reg apart.
Thanks a lot.
Hi everyone,
I am building a rig for my daughter who will be doing her youth open water certification this fall. I would like to get a feedback from professionals or parents with kids who started diving at young age.
For the next couple of years our diving will be in our local quarry which...
Hi everyone.
Does anyone have a thermo OEM rebuild kit and can measure the crush copper washer size?
I have few kits that I think were not OEM but some online retailer putting together and it gave me a problem today. The valve leaked and upon disassembly and the inspection it turned out the OD...
One of our team members has bailed out so we are now looking.
The course is already posted on GUE website and 2 people are registered. We need one more person for the class.
You can PM me or contact Bob directly.
I have got a 109 on one of the well known websites :) The guy told me that it was freshly rebuild and "Tested by a diving instructor" ( I love those statements ) :)
After examining the patient it was noted that it beautifully cranks at lovely 2.5 inches at the easiest settings.
After...
I just want to thank Herman and others involved for the great tools he is producing for the community.
It really helps having them for rebuilding the old proven double and single hoses.
I just wanted to thank Casey for the reg.
I only needed the first stage and decided to give him a try seeing good prices in the signature. He did give me a great deal on an almost new (which I asked for in the first place) stage.
Yes it was cheaper than all ebay options I have seen.
I did a few dives on my lovely D400 with a pink label :)
On the first dive with a cranking effort set at 0.6 it started slowly bubbling in 39f water right from the start.
On the second dive tightening up the cranking effort make it stable in 36F water. No free flows even after a 3 second...
What would you guys recommend to have as an octo for the RAM , my buddy insists on having an octo which I understand and have no problems with it.
It should be a metal second. I was thinking about getting a 109 of 156 but if I want to keep it "in the AL family" what would be a good option ...
I have seen one "specimen" on ebay and although it was in pristine condition it read CE 0098 on the side and I did not want to take chances. Are those the versions the plastic orifice and double sided lever ?
I have one 109 which diaphragm does not look pretty, can I use the one for G250 ? They seem to be close in dimensions but I have not tried to fit one in.
Thanks again.
Can someone help me to with the part numbers for the following parts:
- Metal barrel for S600 (I want to upgrade my S600)
- purge cover for 109/156 (is it still possible to get those from SP)?
Thanks a lot.
So we had a chance to have all 4 in the water on the same dive.
D400 on MK20 (IP 130)
A700 on MK17 (IP 130)
G250V on MK17 (IP 130)
109 converted to Bal Adj (IP140) , (converted using the single o-ring poppet - not an s-wing poppet)
Checking all those regs around 30' gave us the following...
Hi guys. have you ever had this kind of issue with the reg after reassembly.
I have serviced one of the D400s I have got recently, the reg was not completely clean with some traced of salt deposits on the metal parts of the body so I completely disassembled the reg, cleaned it up in the...
Hi guys I have some quest. Re A700 features.
- does it have a seat saving feature? If it does is it the same as on S600 where the pressure is released off the seat when its depressirized? Or the same as G250V where you lock the purge button pressed
- what is case geometry fault value for the reg...
I have finally had an opportunity to have all 3 together on one dive today.
We had:
A G250V mounted on an MK17 ( IP @ 145)
A D400 mounted on a last generation MK20 with a composite piston (IP @ 130)
An Air 1 in Pilot case mounted on an MK5 (IP @ 125)
My friend's G250V was brand new on...
After practicing some rebuilds here is a setup the I came up with :) Still thinking of promoting the 109 to 156 , should I ?
The setup has been tested to 90 ft.
The buddies now love to take my primary while practicing the OOG drills. :)
I've been reading about the case geometry fault in the Reg Savvy book lately. According to how it is explained the D- series has the least fault of all those regs ?
Does it reflect the real world cranking effort on all those regs ? The Air 1 and Pilot seems to have a fault closer to G...
