    Life Insurance and Diving

Certainly I know with the company we use they underwrite you at the start of the plan, if subsequently things change such as health or activities of which you had no knowledge before the plan started then you are fine.

    Life Insurance and Diving

Each company will work in a slightly different way but in principle, an insurance underwriter is looking at risk. My company advises on financial advice in the uk, the company we use asks questions about hazardous activities in recreational time, one of which they consider to be recreational...

OW Cert Classes My first impressions

Glad to hear you are enjoying the diving so much. I think it's easy sometimes to forget quite how cool it is (sorry if that sounds corny) and sometimes we all benefit from being reminded of that!

    A buddy with no Octo?

i would be very concerned about diving with someone who didnt have their own octopus, these things (or an alternative) cost next to nothing, I would sooner dive on my own than with someone who wouldnt pay for something as cheap as an aas. buddy breathing isnt difficult, but i think a lot of...

Deff nice to think there are some BIG fish off our coasts. Tink it was last year there were carcasses of porpoises and seals found along the berwickshire coast which were supposed to have been attacked and killed by mako sharks. Certainly keep my eyes open atst abbs!

    Do you use Sudafed....?

I will use sudafed or actifed when diving, especially on hols as i tend to get heavy colds on long haul flights with the recycled air. It's not really a good idea though and if I could get away without using it then I would, reverse blocks being the main worry but also the drowsiness it tends to...

    Master Diver

I put myself in the category of liking to dive rather than collect certs for the sake of it. Dont see any harm in people doing that though. I would agree that the certs are more important than the overall master diver qual.

Do you have a minimum viz or temp for a dive?

'll limit my depth in low temp / viz to less than 30 metres. In the lochs up here in Scotland, the main prob Ive found is that the water holds a lot of peat and blocks all light any deeper than this. On a course I'll bin the dive if viz is less than 6 feet.

    Koh Tao experiences?
