    Faber Valve service kits?

Hi all, Got my valve bits & pieces yesterday from Piranha Dive. Not only were they prompt but also gave me a part refund on freight as it was cheaper than what their web page indicated. I am stoked so Russ, thankyou very much for the advice and recommend Piranha to anyone for their component...

Apeks WTX Harness without STA Issue

Hey.... I like that idea. Dave .. I am going to try that because the second issue I have with my WTX is that there is no handle to grab when I am trying to lug it up over the gunnels of the boat. The ring at the back may just fix that problem. Also, I am finding with the STA, the tank sits...

    Faber Valve service kits?

Hi all, Put an order in to Piranha, if the parts fit I will order a few more to do the rest of my tanks. Thanks for everyones feedback. One big problem with living in Australia is that the Dive industry is so controlled.:shocked2: It is a pity that I have to shop OS to get what I want when...

    Faber Valve service kits?

Hi, Nothing has happened to it, but the hole is a bit grotty and rough. My thought, if it looks this way why not replace it. Cheers Rainsey

    Faber Valve service kits?

Okydokey. Faber use Sanosub valves, specifically code number 10306. These I have deduced from a earlier Scubaboard post are also the manufacturers of Blue Steel valves. So far so good ... so where the photon do i get repair kits for these then??? Cheers Rainsey

    Faber Valve service kits?

Sorry Dannobee, did not finish my response. Every Faber tank I have has the same valve and it has engraved in it "Made in Italy". I am sure this is a purphy as I would hazard a guess that most vlaves probably come out of an China or the likes. Cheers Rainsey

    Faber Valve service kits?

I am sure they do not, but guts of it look very much like a Thermo. The knob is not angled at all but is square with the body of the valve. Will take a photo and put up. Cheers Rainsey

    Faber Valve service kits?

Hi all, Just doing a clean and service on my 12litre Faber tank valves. There are basically only 3 (4 if you count the seat) replaceable parts being the 9mm O'ring, the 16mm brass washer and the burst disk. Have done a search and found nothing, any one know if you can purchase a kit with...

    IDC ... But with who?

Hi all, Getting to that time in life where I am considering moving up the ranks to get my instructor rating. I am a PADI DM with a cross cert to an SDI DM. The facility that I predomanently dive through has jumped over to SDI from PADi and hence the 2 certs. Have been PADI from the day I...

Apeks WTX Harness without STA Issue

Kern, In theory the top of the valve could be any distance from the top of the wing, all depends on how high or low the tank sits.More the point how high does the wing sit on the harness? Where I do not want the top of the wing is as a pillow behind my head. If one looks at a pic of the...

Apeks WTX Harness without STA Issue

Hi all, Just picked up my WTX but unfortunately the single tank adaptor is on back order so I am forced to use my tank straps directly through the harness. In theory no probs ... but.. On assembling the tank straps through the holes in the wing, through the harness webbing and then back...

    Galileo Luna

    Galileo Luna

jd_earth, On a whole, the Luna is a very nice unit as are all of the Galilleo units. The Luna is to a degree modular compared to the SOL and TERRA units in that it can be purchased I beleive with or without the Heart Rate Monitor or gas integration, so effecticly it can start life as a Terr...

Concern over EOS & Hollis 212 Design

Scubafanatic, Interesting to hear of a possible fault in the first batch of these 2nd stages. The reg is used alot , especially after startng my DM training. The Christolube was on my mind. I took apart a brand new EOS the other day with no issues. I am thinking that any new EOS's that are...

Concern over EOS & Hollis 212 Design

My regs are always soaked in fresh water after every dive. My Dacor, and Mares regs have had no problem whats so ever, though, both of my backup regs use clamps around the housing of the 2nd stage as part of assembly, but being some 20 years old, are substantially better built. Having stated...

Concern over EOS & Hollis 212 Design

The Tech is Oceanic Trained, I have no reason to criticise his work. Trust me, the front of both regs would not budge.

Concern over EOS & Hollis 212 Design

My wife dives with a Oceanic EOS / FDX10 setup and I use an 212 / DC1 config. The EOS is probably 11 months old and my 212 just under 7 months old. Effectively they are the same second stage. A few weeks ago the EOS went in for its annual service prematurely due to a free flowing issue. The...
