    American Air Lines

I personally would feel ok w/a 50 min connection in MIA. I have flown w/AA to BON via MIA many times (all pre-Pandemic, though fwiw). Your flight is on a Wednesday, and early morning (and not during the height of summer travel?...dunno), so perhaps lower probability of delays or cancellation.

    Starting to Reopen

Apparently, Canadians are indeed currently permitted to fly from Canada to the U.S., though I don't believe U.S. citizens are currently permitted to fly to Canada (barring some exceptions): Canadians can still travel to the U.S. during the COVID-19 pandemic — just not by car | CBC News

    Sad day for Bonaire

What sad news. Bruce was selfless, and a class act. I just saw him last November, when he and the rest of the great team at Carib helped me with an equipment issue. Condolences to Lynne and everyone else.

    Black durgons?...

I didn’t see a single black durgon during a recently completed 2-week visit. [Insert Black Durgon Inn joke here]. I did see a few of its cousins, ocean trigger fish. But zero black durgons. They were plentiful in past trips, though I recall seeing less of them during the last few years...

Trip Report Bonaire Trip Report - Delphins Resort

Just a NOTE: Apparently the 10% discount for repeat customers only applies to packages (e.g. NOT tank cards) and must be applied at check-in. This was my 13th consecutive time using DF, and I was disappointed to not receive a discount on my tank card when I brought it up on checkout. This was...

Need Recommendation for PADI Divemaster course in Bonaire

I, too, am considering doing a divemaster internship, but currently moreso for the experience, and to get some more exposure to dive shop operations and working experience to see how I like or dislike it. Is this true that once you obtain PADI Divemaster certification, you must forever carry...

The "Completed EFR Primary and Secondary Care training" prerequisite for PADI Divemaster

I am considering doing a PADI Divemaster course or internship. I am a PADI Rescue Diver, and before I began training for that, I had competed an SDI CPROX course which satisfied the EFR Primary and Secondary Care prereq. It also included some O2 emergency training. That was over 2 years...

Overall impressions from first visit to St. Croix

Hi Rich, If you want to see sharks at Bonaire, you've got better odds on the East coast. I've seen a few nurse sharks during dives with Bas Tol.

Happy New Year! Been here since 12/29, and I have seen 4 different free-swimming green morays during 3 dives, way above average for me, and all during the day. Must be something in the water.😉

That's great!... Was the mantis shrimp a "spearer" or a "smasher"? I didn't know they can be found in the Caribbean. I saw one on the Great Barrier Reef earlier this year and was fascinated by this unique creature. Some edutainment: True Facts About The Mantis Shrimp - YouTube

2 Questions: 1)Yongala worth an out-of-the-way stop? 2)Effects of Nathan on GBR?

At this point Nathan is well west and seemingly no longer a threat in the liveaboard area. I have no experience diving in post-hurricane open water, and I am interested in knowing how much, if any, visibility and general reef conditions and water temperature are affected 7-10 days after a...

2 Questions: 1)Yongala worth an out-of-the-way stop? 2)Effects of Nathan on GBR?

1st time visitor to Australia, currently in Melbourne. Plan was to go to Cairns in near future and do a liveaboard. But presence of Typhoon Nathan has given me pause. how bad is it up there currently, and would there be any lingering effects on the reef or visibility from the typhoon? Looks...
