Hey everyone, I am looking at buying some new cold water regs and I have narrowed my choices down to these two. I'd like to hear any personal experience and/or advice you would care to share. Thanks!

I have a Balance and I love it. Packs up small, its lightweight, and fits well. It could use a dring on the right side bottom edge, but other than that no complaints!

I have to agree with straegen, the companies that stand behind their products are the ones to go with. There is also something to be said for the companies who have been making gear for a long time, the second rate manufacturers tend to get weeded out naturally. I mean, this is Scubaboard after...

I like a spool better that a reel, they are smaller, less irritating if lost, and easier to store. I ordered mine from Piranha Dive Manufacturing, they have quality stuff IMO and they are very reasonably priced.

I would make sure to include the tools you would need to do basic repairs, i.e. adjustable wrench, allen keys, pliers, screwdrivers, etc. Nothing quite so frustrating as remembering to bring an extra computer battery but not having the necessary tool to remove the cover...

Unfortunately, the cover price will be $100/issue. Wish I could watch the Vikings win the Superbowl.
