There was a guy running the trip in 2007, not sure now. The tourist office may know. While you don't need a dive shop, I'm guessing the OP is traveling alone, and will need dive gear and a buddy as minimum!

Where are you starting from and flying from? It's probably the best time of year for the Poor Knights. I think Milford may be stretching it. I'd combine Poor Knights and Bay of Islands - Rainbow Warrior. I'll actually overlap those dates, will be there from 27th Feb diving. ---------- Post...

The first option above describes exactly what I'm planning for late March/ early April next year. The liveaboard is booked and am just booking the rest over the next few days. Glad to know it seems to be a good plan.

You could take a drive up the coast from Sydney, stopping in a couple of places such as SW Rocks to dive Fish Rock Cave, if you don't mind a lot of driving you could make it up to Byron Bay, then fly back to Sydney from the Gold Coast or Brisbane - there's also plenty to do along the way other...
