    Best Shore Dives

Come out to East End. Ocean Frontiers had two boats going out yesterday. After diving, head to Tukka for a nice meal on the water.

My Dry Dives and Other Adventures with DCS, PFO and Migraine with Aura

Just shared this thread with a friend, and thought I'd add a post to say that I'm still quite happy to still be diving.

    Liveaboard fatality - Caymans

Couple of facts: Steve Broadbelt is the co-owner/developer of Compass Point Dive Resort and Ocean Frontiers, not some random "blogger not having appropriate facts, running at the mouth!!" as you state. It was Steve's dive operation and his staff that recovered the lost diver's body and oversaw...

    diving east end

Another couple that are not too far away (although you may not want to walk): Eastern Star Bar & Fish Fry. Miss Kay's fresh fish options and Festivals are not to be missed! (Only open Sat/Sun) Italian Kitchen BTW, Tukka has a great happy hour M-F 3-6PM with tapas and special pricing on drinks...

    Eating without Breaking the Bank

Dunno ... There is the BBQ in the Prospect area we see on Saturdays, if that's what you mean. And of course several Bodden Town jerk places to choose from also.

    Eating without Breaking the Bank

Miss Kay usually offers a selection of whole snapper, grouper, wahoo, mahi mahi, conch fritters, barracuda (eat at your own risk), and shrimp (sometimes) with fried plantains, cooked spicy onions, and fritters (not sure what these are really called but they taste kind of like donuts). There are...

    Eating without Breaking the Bank

A couple more for East End: - Southcoast Bar and Grill (near the Lighthouse restaurant), reasonably priced selection of fresh fish and other local fare (new management/chef) - Tukka at happy hour (3-6 M-F), discounts on drinks and tapa size portions of items including salmon sliders, lion fish...

    Carib Dancer Cancellation

IMNSHO, the trip report from the 12 of us on the June trip was buried in "Whine & Cheeze" specifically and solely to try to bury it. Kind of like closing the barn door after the horses have left, but whatever. The initial report was an unbiased trip report, stating facts experienced by the 12...

Carib Dancer trip report November 10th

And I won't be surprised to see at least one more operator offering Bahamas charters. :cool2: Looking forward to it!

Carib Dancer trip report November 10th

You might want to do a bit more research. A group of twelve of us had quite a number of issues on our charter on this boat, ranging from no water (hot or cold!) to inedible food. (Imagine, if you will, not being able to flush a toilet on a boat with over a dozen people aboard for an extended...

Carib Dancer trip report November 10th

I'll be interested in seeing the pictures, but on the other hand I'm pretty sure what they'll show since I've already seen the boat in person. As Scuba Works said, we wrote a respectful letter to Wayne & Wayne and then were pretty much accused of trying to extort money from Aggressor/Dancer...

Carib Dancer trip report November 10th

Wow. If Wayne & Wayne were upset by my report, I can't imagine the reaction to this one! Unfortunately, it doesn't look like they actually improved much, despite the claims made in that regard. Sorry you had such a bad experience, but I guess I'm not surprised. If they had really taken my...

Your dive experiences after PFO/ASD closure?

Could you please post a link to the transcript? Thanks.

Your dive experiences after PFO/ASD closure?

I'm really sorry I'm going to miss this since I'll be on a plane right at that time. I do know that my closure procedure is the only reason I'm able to continue diving.

    PFO Live Chat with DAN

Sorry I'll miss it, but I'll be on a plane at that time. Without my PFO closure, I have no doubt I'd no longer be diving.

Your dive experiences after PFO/ASD closure?

I'm pretty sure you've read other posts from me, but I had my closure procedure with Dr. Ebersole about 4 years ago now and I'm probably about due to post an update. I've done literally hundreds of dives since then, most on air and most below a hundred feet, right up to my computer (Oceanic VT3)...
