    DUI G2 zip seal difference

I posted in the DUI forum last summer 'It's the end of a 'Long'Run' It's the end of a 'Long' Run - I'm not sure they monitor the forum ...as I don't see any reply. It could be that it's just not on their radar since the turnover in staff is high. Whatever grand plan Dick had for DUI it is...

    DUI G2 zip seal difference

Hi tc_rain, I saw your post in the DUI forum and was wondering if anyone was going to respond. A couple things you could try (and perhaps you have already tried these).... Make sure that the seal is horizontal....straight and not tilting in the front or back. If the ring is tilted it makes...

Advice on lift capacity for BP&W

Obviously this is just my opinion... Abhijit was asking what was going on at OMS. OMS is one company and DUI and BtS handled the regulators in two entirely different ways. Does this impact a company? I guess time will tell.

Advice on lift capacity for BP&W

HI Abhijit - This is Kathy Long and I worked for DUI for years. It was a family business up until two years ago or so. At that time it has imploded and is no longer the company it was. You can see my post on DUI's forum here on ScubaBoard. A number of years ago OMS was purchased by 3...

Why dont people use OMS regulators?

OMS did a partial recall on their regulators last year. OMS, which is owned by Beyond the Shore and DUI, released the AirStream Evoque. DUI shipped some units and these they recalled according to their website and the CPSC recall alert 'due to drowning hazard'. To my knowledge Beyond the...

Drysuits - telescopic torso (TLS) - what is it?

TLS refers to 'Tri Laminate Series'... which could be purchased as a self-don or shoulder entry drysuit. The 'telescoping torso' is a style of a self-don drysuit. Since the fabric does not stretch, and it is a one piece garment, extra material is needed for movement.

Any review of OMS Airstream & OMS Evoque?

OMS is owned by DUI, a US company and BtS, a Germany company. DUI which distributes OMS in the US recalled the Airstream Evoque Regulator by OMS. You can check their website for details. BtS, to my knowledge, did not recall the regulators they sold. I hope OMS would be transparent here and I...

Oh I just noticed the 'Dive Equipment Manufacturer' underneath. I will ask that to be changed. Thank you.

OMS Regulator Recall - Based on where you live

To my knowledge the regulators are all from the same manufacture in China (I believe) and all from the same lot. It came down to what was determined an 'incidence'. And perhaps the US CPSC has more pull to protect consumers. I am not sure. I do not believe anyone at DUI was actively diving...

It's the end of a 'Long' Run -

Yes I remember that trip. In fact my image profile is from it. Awesome time with the manatees. I remember feeling like I was sticking out in the drysuit... until later in the day when everyone was freezing.... It was fun to talk with you... and learn more about Scubaboard

It's the end of a 'Long' Run -

Over the years I've responded to hundreds of questions here on Scubaboard. I'm sad to announce that Tuesday was my last day at DUI. I am officially the last “Long” to leave the building. For those of you who don’t know, DUI is – or was – a family business. My mother, Janice, used her savings...

    Drysuit undergarment advice

Hi Jake. This is Kathy Long with DUI. I came across your thread. I would highly recommend a warm and toasty undergarment like our Xm450 Thinsulate. Personally I would wear this diving of San Diego all year (below thermocline). You mention she is petite. Repetitive dives over repetitive...

    Weight system for BP&W?

Hi - This is Kathy Long with DUI. I came across your post. The Weight & Trim System is awesome and of course not for everyone. I actually got an email today from Don P "One of my best purchases in a while. I've been in this sport for 33 years. Balances my weights on me very well and gets...
