Hello, and a question on BP/W and diving in Thailand

You will be fine with a SS BP. I have dove mine everywhere from drysuits in Washington state, to Guam dives in the 84 degree bath water and have never been over weighted. Depending on where you wind up I drop to only 1 kilo and I am a little over weighted in skin in Guam with a SS. I think...

question ; Weight belt vs integrated for drysuit diving

I dive dry with a BP/W and I have a trim weight on one tank strap and then the rest of the weight is distributed to a weight harness. It is so much more comfortable with the large amount of weight that you use and if/when I need to drop weight I can drop one pouch at a time and not have to...

    Diving Saipan

I am going to be headed to Saipan and I am looking for any recommendations on dive shops that are English speaking? Also are there any good shore sites that are not real deep with a sandy bottom that is ok to kneel on? Also what other sites do you all recommend? One last question would be...

Looking for advice on back up lights for cave country

I also have the Dorcy lights as my backup light and have used them for primaries as well for some dives. They have been beat around bounced off things while moving the gear around and they have taken the abuse and still work like new.

    Diving 23 Oct- 06 Nov

Hey I am going to be back home the dates listed above and would like to try and get a couple dives in while I am there. I will be in O'Fallon, Mo but I have no problems traveling a little bit since I know there is little diving around there. If anyone is interested let me know so I can pack my...

Question: Any opinions on the Apeks or the SiTech automatic drysuit exhaust valves

I have the Si-Tech neck ring system and I love it, so easy to change out a neck seal, never had any problems with it leaking and it lets you put a silicon neck seal on the suit as well.

wicth way to go from here

I think that I will have to agree with TSandM about the GUE Primer or Fundies course. I am not sure about your while rig and it might be best to take the primer to get a intro and to know where you are by the standards or if you can find some GUE divers in the area that you can get some dives...

    Maximizing depth AND time under

Any nitrox that you use will increase you NDL. I mean you can use 28% with a MOD of 155fsw on a 1.6 PPO2 or if you are really wanting to be able to do your 170fsw, then back off your mix to 26% for a 170fsw MOD. Both of these options will increase your NDL and still be safe to dive. If you...

    Best practical dive vehicle

You might also check out the new F-150's with the ECOboost engines. I know the mileage is a little lower than what you want, but you will have a ton of room and it can throw a good sized trailer on and not have a problem towing it as well. This is what I am looking for my next dive vehicle...

    Any pressure gauge recommendations?

If you are getting the SPG's for side mount for example then you will be looking for a 6-9" HP hose as opposed to the 32" or so for back mount.

    Any pressure gauge recommendations?

With the brass and glass SPG's like that one very few people put them in a boot so there is no chance to store water in with it and have it go bad quickly and also with the hoses, most of the time there is not one included so that the diver can chose what will work best for their rig. I know...

    "Accidental" Deco

We had one diver with about 10 minutes of deco and the other had racked up over 16 minutes of deco and we had to tell him to go up after we got his attention and checked his computer, he was completely oblivious. Most people don't realize how fast deco racks up and get caught with a lot before...

    "Accidental" Deco

I was on a boat dive today and we had two people go into deco "accidentally". I am wondering how can you accidentally go into deco? I have had a few computers and they all say it as big as can be on the screen while you are diving how long you have until deco. If it gets low you head up as to...

    Trim issue

Your tank position will definitely affect your trim but that seems odd to be your tank if its infrequent. you might try to place your tank a little higher if it happens at the beginning of the dive or a little lower if its at the end of the dive, assuming you are diving AL80's. You might try...
