I've haven't dove Isla Mujeres, so I can't help with recommendations (sorry for the hijack!), but I've thought about it as being a good location to vacation with my dive-buddy /brother-in-law and our non-diving wives .... I know it's an outstanding trip above the water, I'd love to see a trip...

When doing boat dives I make an effort to pull out my book just before the dive to fill in the name of the dive site; or even better just after and fill in the name of the site + a few comments ... I go back at the end of the day and transfer the details from my computer to the book; usually...

Almost certainly will be one of the Caribbean charters, not only because of the cost of the charters, but the time & cost of getting to the pacific locations (I'm not keen on flying across 6-7 time zones for a 7 day trip and my dive buddy only has a week of vacation to use for diving)...
