Ok, so have you had to call a dive for this . . .

Betty, I had congestion a lot, and use Flonase and Claritin daily, and then 12 hour Sudafed on dive days. I also use NeilMed sinus rinse every day, twice a day, and since doing that I have gone from a lot of congestion to being totally clear almost every day. If you haven't tried the...

    What to wear...under there

ScubaPro Hybrid shorts--1mm neoprene. They don't ride up, and the little bit of extra core warmth is nice.

    Allegro Cozumel

I stayed at the Occidental in January. Dove with Dive Palancar (House Dive Shop), and thought that the DMs were great and that the proximity to the reefs was a big plus--no long boat rides. They also offer night dives on M W F if there is enough interest. The advantage of diving with them if...

    Atom 2 or Vytec DS

I dive with an AI (hoseless) Vytec DS and like it a lot. The only issue that I have had with it is on the boat in Coz in Jan., 2 others in the group had DSs and when we went to sync the computers, we had to make sure that we were far enough apart so that the computers didn't try to pick up the...

    Henderson H2 Question

Has anyone out there tried the new H2? My wife bought one for me for my birthday (size M), and I love the stretch, the neck and wrist seals, and the ankle openings/closure sytem, but the legs seem a little big through the thigh and long (they bunch at the knee). I'm 5'9" and weigh 155 lbs. My...

    Dive Palancar ?

They have nitrox--maybe not on your first day of diving if you haven't requested it in advance, but for all other dives that you want it, you can get it. I also agree that the surface intervals at the Allegro and for me the Occidental were great. Made it easy to do up to 5 dives a day (M W F...

Using ear plugs for diving? - Doc's ProPlugs

I dive with Pro Plugs every dive. I have never had any problems, and have no problems at all equalizing. My only suggestion is get the colored ones--if you set the clear ones down they can be hard to see....

    Dive Palancar ?

I stayed at the Occidental and dove with them in January. Also dove all week with Sergio off the same boat. Doing the SI at the Allegro and lunch between dives 2 and 3 at the Occidental was great. Thought that Sergio was great all week, and being close to the dive sites was great. All of our...

    First Dive at Aurora Res

I don't know what the daily entry fee is, but you can check at auroragov.org (searach aurora reservoir). I'm pretty sure that the daily entry fee did go up. The season entry pass is $55 for Aurora residents, and $65 for non-residents. The scuba beach placard is $10 per day or $150 for the...

    Dive Palancar Feedback?

I just checked my computer log, and both night dives that I did were 50 minutes. Maybe it depends on the dive master...

    Dive Palancar Feedback?

I dove with Dive Palancar in January, and liked them a lot. The dives were 45-55 minutes long, the guide led, but let you wander some to look at the reefs and see things, they also pointed out things during the dive. The boats are not cattle boats--the small boat is 6 or so divers, the bigger...

The Occidental Grand, Allegro, and Holiday Village White Sands Hotel

I stayed at the Grand and dove with Dive Palancar in January and thought that both operations were very good. Being close to the dive sites was a plus, and I didn't mind at all not being close to town. We went into town twice, and that was really enough for me. The "reservation" restaurants...

    Tusa BCJ-6900 X-PERT

One more great thing about this BCJ--the inflator hose can be unscrewed from the attachment point and removed. This is great if you use the integrated inflator/secondary, especially if you travel--you can take the inflator hose off and carry it on and not worry about anything getting damaged by...

    Tusa BCJ-6900 X-PERT

huisen, Have you used the trim pockets on the back of the BCJ for your extra weight? I usually put 2 lbs. in each pocket, and then whatever else I need (usually 10 more lbs.) in the integrated pockets--maybe you won't need to attach weight to the secondary tank strap.

    Tusa BCJ-6900 X-PERT

I own this BCD also and agree with huisen. The one thing that wasn't listed in the likes was that even though the D rings are plastic, there are more than enough to clip off your equiment to in reachable positions. I really like the adjustability of the cumberbund, and the straps are...

3mm vs 5mm suit - which is more versatile for tropics/FL?

Yes, just pull down on the neck and open it to let water in. It's not all about warmth on the dive that you're doing, but about keeping your core warm throughout the trip. I had no problem with bouyancy, just added a little weight when I wore the hooded vest. By the way, the water was...

3mm vs 5mm suit - which is more versatile for tropics/FL?

I dove in Cozumel in January with a 5mm, and if doing 4 dives a day added a 3/5 hooded vest and was never overheated. In fact, I was comfortable the entire time. I'd rather be a little warm than cold.

Moving to Colorado looking for a Dive Shop.

If you want friendly, no pressure, and great people, I recommend Underwater Phantaseas in Greenwood Village (I-25 and Arapahoe Rd.). I have taken all of my certification courses with them, purchased the majority of my equipment from them, and travelled with them, and they are a great group of...

Airsource II compatable with Tusa BCJ-6900

I don't know about the Airsouce II, but TUSA has the Duo Air IR-3 I also have a BCJ 6900 and use this alternate air. You can also use the ScubaPro alternate air (same as the TUSA) and not need a conversion of any kind. Doing this you only change out the inflator for the regulator/inflator...
