I dropped the battery back in this morning and it's behaving. Even if it I can't use it as a DC anymore, at least now I can furiously scribble down everything from the logbook (because I don't have the USB cable). I'll be happy to have that stuff in my log.
I just changed the battery on my Suunto Vyper, which I bought in 2009. I got so far as setting the time and had just set the units when it went into dive mode and immediately starting throwing all sorts of alarms. It was registering depths of up to 150m, along with the associated warnings you...
Hey guys, this exact same things just happened to me (also a Vyper, but from 2009) immediately after a battery change. I don't see how it could be the battery, since the battery guage on startup said the battery was fine. Since a few folks suggested dirty contact as the problem for it going into...
That sounds like great fun. It should probably wait for another trip where I can drag gear along with me. I've been looking around for used gear in Cancun and haven't found any leads yet. I wonder how I would find some of these divers down the coast to see about picking up a few select pieces of...
So... I never got around to working in the dive industry. Can I have my DM badge removed? I never should have had an instructor badge. Don't know where that came from. But if people can have custom badges, I would like "fish out of water".
Hey y'all I'm about to do a similar trip in the next week or two and wanted to say this thread has been a gold mine. Many thanks to @Melissa Flinn for the post-trip follow-up and all the other contributors. 👏
Thanks for the detailed advice. This is roughly in line with what I was expecting to hear, except I was kind of thinking of cave diving as a quick diversion from Cozumel rather than something I should consider focusing on. I'm gonna investigate that more for sure!
Maybe a dumb question, but...
Hi fellow divers. I'm looking for some advice on how to best use my limited diving budget while I'm in the Mesoamerican reef region. I have lots of time, but not a lot of money. I don't mind traveling about for the best diving.
Experience level: I have about 150 dives under my belt, but only 2...
Idk if it's possible to edit thread titles after posting, but it would be cool if the title had your location. I'm also looking for a dive buddy, but I'm in Cleveland, which feels a bit far for us to weekend dive.
Looks like my notifications were disappearing into a junk folder... Thank you everyone for the very helpful replies. After launching my preliminary investigations to find a club I found one I was happy with. Then when I went to find my dive cards I realized I don't know where they are. My dive...
I wonder if anyone around here has experience with the French dive clubs. There are a fair number of FFESSM clubs in the area. Of course I can easily recognize the benefits of knowing some local divers and making some pool dives on a regular basis just to keep my skills up. However, the club...
I'm based in Paris now and the urge to get underwater has returned, but where to begin? I'm primarily looking for inexpensive dive options, but I'm open to travel or local and long (up to a couple of weeks) and short trips.
Are there viable weekend trips for someone with no car? Would it be...
Can anyone offer advice on a crossover path for me?
I'm based in Paris and would like take advantage of some diving before I hit the road again.
PADI DM + DSAT Tech Deep (deco diving, no trimix)
What's better about IANTD? Recognized here? I have my OW from IANTD and would have done a lot more...
