I've cruised ALOT and rarely have I ever booked with the cruise line. Most places have some great dive shops that will be better than the cruises anyway.

I really, really hate this but looks like I'm out. I had a minor accident on Friday, I'm fine but my car isn't. It's going to be a couple of weeks before the body shop can get to my car. My poor car actually has stitches in it right now until they can fix it.

I lived in Panama City Beach for several years and there are several good dive shops there. My two favorite are Panama city Diving and Diver's Den. A quick google search will get you the websites and numbers for each of them.

I'm one of those who doesn't come to SB often any more but hearing this is just so so saddening. I never met her but have always admired her way with helping other's through the board. Her advice has always been spot on, safety cautious and well, just great. I know I've gained much wisdom...

Amy it's not any better in North Florida. My computer read 70 on my first dive last Saturday and 72 on second dive. This was off Ft Walton Beach/Destin.

We had one of those things. We played around with it for several dives, even played "hang man" with it while sitting near the cave entrance at Vortex. But it was just to bulky for me to carry it on every dive. Not that it was very big but with camera and gear that was one less thing I wanted...

How was the water temperature? At this point I'm just wondering if it's above or below Vortex temps of 68.
