Dive Computer for Visually Impaired diver?

I've been away from here for too long. Sure do appreciate the comments. Not familiar at all with the Liquivision at all. Bright text on a dark background would be easier, alas that's how I have to use the computer in reverse. But price is a factor. If I still lived in CA where I'd be diving most...

    Curacao Sunset Waters 8/15-23rd

I'd really love to be able to really get around Curacao to more of those wonderful beaches. It is a beautiful place. We did some diving right off one of the very popular and sounded very busy beaches. It was kiinda nice to sit back on the boat yet be close enough to hear all the people on the...

Dive Computer for Visually Impaired diver?

I actually had looked at 'online only' the Oceanic. The pictures of it are quite impressive. The contrast really looks great. I like the idea of vibrate, obviously only for a wrist mount:) But that or an audible alarm is a good idea. Thanks all.

Dive Computer for Visually Impaired diver?

I'm looking for opinions from other VI divers. So I hope it's OK to post this here. I can't focus on anything close, like close enough for me to see is too close for me to see. That's been a problem since I had a cornea transplant. So I either have to have big lettering, or use a magnifier...

Hello from a Visually Impaired diver

Darn, I thought that would make a great photo. I am going to try and plan another nice trip next year, maybe June. Not sure where yet. Either liveaboard like Nekton in Bahamas, or Wind Dancer, or to Roatan (Coco View). Been to CocoView before and LOVED it. But it would be great if some other...

Hello from a Visually Impaired diver

I just posted more photos of our Curacao trip to: http://web.me.com/denningj These are more of a first sort of photos, and some are cropped, a few are edited, but most not touched more than a crop. But if you'd like to see em, I hope you enjoy.

    Legally Blind Diver

Not sure how I overlooked this thread, gosh must be blind. Hello all, I think I met many of you over in the thread I started to introduce myself. I relate to needing to look close at my gauges. Can almost read my computer. Well someone here put me onto a magnifier, I ordered it. I'm anxious...

    Curacao Sunset Waters 8/15-23rd

I shouldn't do this, but :) I've been sorting the many photos we took in Curacao. I'm not done with them by a long shot, but I did put them up on the web. It's probably too easy to put them up. And I know I'll be working on them for some time to come. So if you'd like to see what we (Tammy...

    Curacao Sunset Waters 8/15-23rd

Yes to the bugs. I'm kinda surprised, usually I don't get bit, my wife does all the time. She must be sweeter than I. But wow I had bites when I came back. So bring something. I didn't use anything to keep them away. never have, guess I will from now on.

    Curacao Sunset Waters 8/15-23rd

Hi Bobby and Carie -- You answered about as I did in a private message. My wife and I had a super time and I do see us going back. I agree that Lynn, Dave, Scott, Clark, and the rest of the staff felt more like friends. We'd spend the day together having fun. I ate like a pig on vacation. But...

Looking for fun in SE Idaho

Just above the falls, on the west bank. Probably near your hotel is a quiet area great to enter. You enter in shallow water, but it drops to about 80' very fast. I've also entered below the falls and swam upstream when there was LOTS of flow. The river is wide there and you don't feel any flow...

Looking for fun in SE Idaho

I don't live in the area any longer. But when I did I dived anywhere I can find, often the Snake River near the falls in IF. Even once in November. Yes it was cold, though I was in my drysuit. But the water was clear, lots of life and an interesting dive.

Dive Report: Nekton Pilot during Tropical Storm Fay

Yup, think I wanna go to the Bahamas. So early summer is the best time to go? I don't mind the COLD water. Let's all plan a trip...

    RMM Format Error

DANDY DON Oh I am about as chill on it as one can get. :) Heck it's taken me two weeks since the return from my trip to ask the question. Just wanted to be sure it isn't pointing to a problem other than one bad media card. I've been shooting digital since 2000, this is the first bad card I've...

Dive Report: Nekton Pilot during Tropical Storm Fay

It's good to hear they do come through. But I would feel better if they had a good stated up front policy, i.e. Aggressor. I am seriously considering one of their trips. I'd like to do Bahamas, but the next years schedule looks like they are going to be elsewhere much of the time. I'd think...

Hello from a Visually Impaired diver

DOLL FIN I'm in, let's go. It would be a sight, and fun. I do use a cane from time to time, when needed, like in an unfamiliar area, or when my eyesight just isn't doing as well. it fluctuates from bad to worse.

    Solo diving?

I have to agree with the sentiment that the twice freedive depth doesn't make a great deal of sense. Coming up after taking a breath at depth is the the same as swimming down and back up. Let's all go back to Boyle's Law. I gradually moved into solo diving. I think it really came home when I...

Boat dive photos -Monterey meet and greet

Oh, gosh wish I was with you, I'm homesick. I'm from Monterey, started diving there in 70. Now living in GA where most people would "never go into cold water". I miss it. Thanks for sharing the great photos.
