“RC mode” is the mode setting on the camera when you’re using an external flash. On the flash, the corresponding setting is the “TTL” mode (turn leftmost control switch fully clockwise).

This is a pic of a dead wood louse on the bottom of my neighbor's pool taken with the TG-6 in the PT-59 housing with the YS-01 flash in RC mode. hahah. The wood louse's body is about 3mm across.

Thanks everyone, I ended up buying the YS-01, we will see how well it works - I'll be in Oki from 09/05-09/13 and I'm diving all day, every day. :)

Thank you all for all your help. OK, after sitting on Amazon and other sites for half the night last night, I like the idea of the YS-01, especially since it looks like that's the exact device Olympus is rebranding as their own for use with the TG-6. My problem now is, what about the rest of...

OK - great info so far, really appreciate it. With these two manufacturers' devices (Sea & Sea and Inon), how are the strobes coupled to the TS-06 in the housing? Also, I'd love to avoid a tray/handle, since the housing has a mount point on it, I'd prefer to mount the flash on a short arm on...

So after many years of faithful service I've decided to retire my Canon point and shoot and its seemingly indestructible housing. I've always been a Canon guy, but the Olympus TG-6 has caught my eye. I've ordered one, along with the housing (the '59), but now I need a flash and am looking for...

    Data conversion question from PCLogBook

I have a Cressi Archimede II which I've had for many years. I failed to buy the interface for it when it was new, so when I finally decided I wanted the logged data off of it I was challenged by availability. After over 5 years of digging around forums, trying to figure out how to build my...

INON AD mount to 67 mm thread adapter?

I know it's an old thread, but I have precisely the same request and like not having to re-explain it. Do such adapters exist anywhere? I've not been able to find one.

Finally returning to Okinawa, need dive shop recommendation

Lots. I saw a huge school of big bluefin at the Keramas. In general, it's like a coral jungle full of all sorts of animals from tropical and semi-tropical waters. The corals are huge and ubiquitous, especially close to shore. More diversity and abundance than anyplace I've been in the Caribbean.

    Sunabe Seawall, Okinawa photos/report/video

Fantastic. That place is just dense in not only coral, but yellow-lipped sea kraits. There was no time while I was diving there that I couldn't see at least one snake.

Last time I dove with Japan Diver, not sure if they're still around, had a pretty good experience. Will be there in August or September, looking to do at least four days of diving. I'll be staying in Chatan. G.

Trip to Okinawa in a few weeks...

Sorry for my epic fail on the pics and for necroing this old thread. I dug up and uploaded some pics just now. Here is a sample: Many more in the photos section. It was the best diving I've ever experienced from the aspect of wildlife and the condition of the reefs and water. The coral...
