Suggestions for St Vincent Dive Op and Hotel?

Wow, thanks for the amazing info. All good to know, we'll have to check out Young's Island. Don't mind boat diving, just happen to possibly be traveling St. V for something not related to diving so figured I'd research options. After our first Bonaire trip this last November, I'm sure shore...

    OTS Spectrum reviews ?

Dove with the Spectrum today in the pool. Really enjoyed it, so did my wife. Although my bailout practice/procedures didn't go very good. Just couldn't get comfortable with removal and switching to octo and donning backup mask. Never had issues with removing and donning/clearing normal mask and...

    OTS Spectrum reviews ?

Thanks for the suggestions. My B2 reg has a swivel already (30 degrees), but not sure that would help?. I like the idea of the quick release, especially with the locking mechanism. Assuming also if both my buddy has the QD would allow for sharing air.... although we'd need QD's on our secondary...

    OTS Spectrum reviews ?

Just ordered an OTS Spectrum. Will try it in our local pool to see how it feels. I also considered an Ocean Reef G.Diver (local shop had 2 used with coms for $500 a piece) but it was suggested that our Atomic B2 regulator with the Spectrum would breath better than the Ocean Reef. Wife and I have...

    OTS Spectrum reviews ?

Great thread going on here. I'm considering getting my hands on one of these for a Bonaire trip in November. I have an Atomic Aquatics B2 with the "Comfort Swivel", so hoping that would help with any binding of the soft plastic some have posted here. My main reason for looking into this for me...

What single suit for tropics (always traveling) - shorty or full? 3mm or other?

The LavaCore has held up good so far but have only used it on about 10 dives. They carry them at my LDS and a lot of people there swear by them. I've found vecro will tear anything up a bit if you let it get stuck to it too much. I have a Aqualung balance BCD that doesn't have any velcro on it...

What single suit for tropics (always traveling) - shorty or full? 3mm or other?

I've been using the LavaCore full which I really like. It's suppose to be as warm as a 3mm full but without the buoyancy. Have used it on two trips to Belize this past year. Both times did around 4-6 dives in a week. I hate getting cold and like the extra cover. But I've also added a LavaCore...

First GoPro Video - San Pedro, BZ - SRP BlurFix - Intova - CY Filter

Thanks. From my limited experience and my last setup, I'm going to opt not using lighting on our next trip to Roatan. At least the depths we dive it doesn't really seem necessary. As some spots in the video you can see the outline of the light as even with one wide angled torch it still creates...

First GoPro Video - San Pedro, BZ - SRP BlurFix - Intova - CY Filter

How exciting. I actually had just noticed a picture AquaPro site with the setup your talking about and was going to suggest that (mounting the gopro upside down). That is an awesome idea. Have fun in the water!

Ah, great idea to stack two and use one for stills and backup.

First GoPro Video - San Pedro, BZ - SRP BlurFix - Intova - CY Filter

Hey All. Been seeing some great video on hear from GoPro users and wanted to share mine. My wife, myself, and good friend went to San Pedro Belize in April and created a video of our trip. Almost all of it is diving. Here's my setup: GoPro HD Hero 2, Intova flex arm (short), Intova 220 lumens...

    Belize Advice?

My wife and I've been to St. Croix, Cozumel, Kauai, Curacao, Playa, Cancun... and now San Pedro last October (2011). We're returning this coming April. It's the first place we've went back to. For the price, distance, and amenities for us (living in the Midwest US) it's perfect. We're divers of...

    GoPro HD underwater blur fix

So if I'm using a light source, should I not be using a cy filter (blurfix cy)? Or can they be used together? Looks like I'll have a 220 lumens (not much I know) wide angle torch along (tropical 20-60 ft), so just wondering if it's suggested to do one or the other (e.i. no filter, use light - cy...

    GoPro HD underwater blur fix

I'm liking the Snake River version now also, I agree that the quality of the glass filters is a major plus. And the desiccant beads. Although I see they're currently out of stock on the pre-mounted housings and the package deals they had on their site are no longer listed. (cy filter...
