What did you buy but eventually replaced?

For me it's more a case of "added to" other than outright replaced except for my original air only computer. I bought it for my OW course (it wasn't terribly expensive) and shortly thereafter replaced it with a nitrox capable one.

    23 1/2 hours.............

A friend shared this video on Facebook & I thought it was worth sharing here, some serious food for thought....... 23 and 1/2 hours: What is the single best thing we can do for our health? - YouTube

    Couch to 5K

Most ruining injuries are a result of too much, too soon, too fast. Run consistently (3 or 4 times a week - rest days are important) cross train (swim, bike, strength) and increase your volume slowly (not more than 10% per week). I was a die hard couch potato for most of my adult life. In 2009...

I resolve to never get fat

Misinformation perpetuated by the good folks at PETA and advocates of bizarre "health" practices of colonic irrigation and the like. (No autopsy was performed on John Wayne, Elvis' post-mortem did reveal a distended colon but this had nothing to do with consuming red meat - he had congenital...

"tech" rig for a new diver ?

I travel with my BP/W now. Surprisingly with a 6lb SS BP it's less than a pound heavier thank my BC and your not dealing with the extra weight needed to deal with the inherent buoyancy of the BC itself (IIRC Zeagle rates the Stilleto at about +1.5lbs buoyancy)

    Oceanlog not finding dives

I may just do that, 35euros is a reasonable price for something that works.......

    Oceanlog not finding dives

I just got back from a short dive trip (11 dives) and when I tried to download the new dives to Oceanlog it only recognized the last 2 dives. (Normally I download the data daily but I was in Mexico and my interface cable was back home.....) When I manually scroll through the dive log on my...

FAQ on Nocturnal Light SLX 800i vs. SLX 800xi

I've just ordered an Equinox HD6 housing for my Canon HF S30 and am now looking at lights, the pricing of the SLX800i looks pretty competitive, what would you recommend in terms of setup (2 lights). Thanks in advance.

    2011 Ride the Rideau (Fundraiser)

Ride The Rideau is a 100km bicycle ride from Ottawa to Merrickville and is a fundraiser for the Ottawa Hospital's ongoing cancer research. Last year I had the privilege of taking part in the 2010 inaugural "Ride the Rideau", it was an emotional ride for me as my father succumbed to cancer 6...

    Getting C-Cards Without Testing?

Agreed, scuba can be a very safe sport with proper training and equipment. Taking shortcuts can have tragic results. I recall one diver from my AOW course who was livid that the instructor wouldn't sign off as he clearly had some issues diving in local waters (had done a Caribbean quicky for...

What's your best dive ever ?

If I'd already had my best dive there would be no point in diving anymore. Of my, so-far, most memorable dives I'd have to include my first ever cavern dive at the the Blue Lagoon (El Dudu) in DR, my first ever dive blow 100fsw (even though that was in a fairly non-descript portion of the St...

    OW Help

My question would be....have you been diving in the 2 years since you took the course? If you haven't it may be in your own best interests to take the whole course over, 2 years is a long surface interval.
