I did the Deep Diving class too and while technically recreational diving is up to (down to?) 130ft, most agencies recommend staying above 100ft. I agree with the other post that you should take other condition into account. It can get pretty cold and dark going deep.

I took the AOW from my local dive shop but it was all inclusive. It's home study then a Q&A session/written tests and then the dives. My shop lets you borrow the books for free as long as you don't write in them and the AOW card was included. I didn't ask if I could get a discount if I waived...

I just got an iPhone and was looking for a Scuba app. One feature I'd like to see would be recording GPS coordinates of the dive site. I know I'd use this on boat dives a lot. I dive with a computer so the actual log stuff wouldn't be as useful. I'd recommend to versions or modes; a simpler one...
