    Hoses Keep Breaking

I only know for rubber hoses I would have thought with braided the actual braid would release any trapped air. I tried braided hoses and hated them especially for the long hose.

    Hoses Keep Breaking

HP hoses have perforations in the outside cover to prevent the outside cover from blowing out with a leak in the pressure part. When the hose is dry there is a small amount of air between the cover and the hose so as soon as the hose is pressurized small bubbles appear along the surface of the...

How do I overcome seasickness on boat dives without medication?

Candied ginger works well as does raw ginger.

Question Picked up a pair of Faber LP95s, do I need to tweak my weighting for buoyancy?

Just because an 80cuft tank sometimes feels like half a ton doesn't mean it does. He had the 12.4 correct but that is cu.ft. to the pound.

    Hello. New diver from Toronto.

In the Summer a 3/2 is enough for the St. Lawrence at Brockville.

A repository of 3D print STL sources

If using the plates you could use continuous bungee if concerned about the plate breaking.

Although the plates make it more secure you can also do it with just bungee itself.

How old do you plan to dive til?

    Your thinking might change.

How old do you plan to dive til?

I think I heard about one somewhere but understand the captain is rather grumpy. Must have lived longer than he planned.

How old do you plan to dive til?

It certainly gets harder as you age. I am pushing 77 and continue to dive the cold water of the Great Lakes and will be visiting Vancouver Island in April and hope to get to Newfoundland again this year. I have switched from a 130hp to a 100hp for back-mount and LP 50's instead of 100hp's for...

    Back mount pony bottle

What is truly redundant with manifolded doubles which have the possibility of isolation valve failure. I know it is very rare but if it is a possibility then manifolded doubles are not as fully redundant as a pony and are a lot harder on the back.

You might need to adjust your stage kit but it should just hang at your side such that you are not even aware of it. Maybe look up videos on stage rigging.

    Back mount pony bottle

I guess you have never been mugged by a panicked diver who rips your reg from your mouth. I have and the first reaction is not to calmly deploy the long hose before going to your backup especially when they are either desperately trying to claw their way to the surface or sinking. In a normal...

    Back mount pony bottle

It was shown in the video and Boarderguy referenced it in post 200. I dive primary donate with a long hose which will not work with an Air2 without having the extra step of removing it from around your neck prior to donating so it doesn't get tangled with the inflator hose. If the out of air...

    Back mount pony bottle

The important part is having a redundant air source of sufficient capacity that is easily accessed regardless of how it is carried. For me a slung AL40 works best.

    Back mount pony bottle

Practicing air shares is nothing like what happens in a real emergency with a panicked diver, useful yes but does not really prepare you for when the sht really hits the fan.

    Back mount pony bottle

I have given my preference, dive as you wish, I always dive fully redundant so I really don't care what configuration my buddy, if I have one, uses. I realize that after diving for 45 years I still have plenty to learn but including an Air2 in my configuration is not one of them. Why adding any...

    Back mount pony bottle

Watch the video and you will see. The necklaced secondary is put in place before the long hose so they do not interfere, try to do that with your inflator hose and still have full use of it.

    Back mount pony bottle

The last thing I am is a GUE guy, in fact with today's price of helium it is nice to get below 100 ft and get away from them. I am however a long hose primary donate guy and Air 2 doesn't play well with primary donate on the long hose. Most of my diving is in cold and really cold water and I...
