I dive up in Hood Canal 3 or so times a month depending on how many classes I have going and how much I can get out for fun dives. I own some property up there so I usually try to do multi-day dive trips.

I am looking to pick up a pair of Inon strobes --- Does anyone think there will be a sale on them this fall? If some reseller wants to send me a price via private message for a pair I'd certainly be interested. Are there any other strobes I should consider? Looking for something affordable :)...

I only had 1 (and my phone) -- No idea how many they would allow you to bring in. I guess they are looking for resellers of cameras getting around some sort of tax on imported equipment.

Cozumel asked me how many cameras I had during the bag search but that was it.

Do you think the training(testing) of the CESA needs to be done in Open Water or can a diver be trained well enough for a CESA in confined water (pool/horizontal) only? Reading thru the WRSTC standards it doesn't appear they require a CESA specifically.

10 years later -- We are still doing the CESA in open water nothing has changed.

My part of the USA has about 99% of the people wearing masks in public. I don't know about the rest of the USA but here in the PNW people are honestly giving it a go.

I hope they extend the USA ban past my trip in October so I can more easily move things around to a new date.

Howdy! Has anyone used the Kraken KR-S02 Strobes? I have a pair of them and trying to diagnose an issue with them with the company but wanted to also check with some other owners about it. They are nice strobes and I know Kraken will have a winner here once this gets debugged out.

Well its all knowledge and you certainly will find questions like this on the IDC exams. I don't think they cover much in terms of dive planning or gas use -- If I remember right.

Well one is off to the manufacture in Singapore for a fix -- They said this is a problem they have seen before and know the fix. I just hope I get the strobe back sometime...... They need a USA service center -- It was $60 to send this in :(

I am not sure why the cloud couldn't just have been hooked up to the desktop app. I find the desktop app works better for me but I know they will keep improving the cloud version and get it caught up. I just wish the cloud version had an option so it wasn't a dark color.

Besides my eyes liking the non-dark interface of the older "Desktop" (Yes I know dark is all the rage but I don't like being forced into dark mode) -- How do you update the firmware, Start up text and start up image on the computer? I haven't found those functions in the Cloud version yet.
