Wananavu deposits being returned or scam? Help?

Too bad your trip didn't work out. We had a great time there when we went in 2012. We were really happy with the resort and the dive op and felt very relaxed. Had some really incredible dives.

Air Tahiti won't allow cancellations even though travel is banned

I would have to pay the full ticket price and then wait to see what happens. Not going to take that chance. I didn't buy insurance because with the high cost of the insurance, it wouldn't benefit me to save the 500.00 in cancellations fees. Even with the government banning travel thru the...

Air Tahiti won't allow cancellations even though travel is banned

I booked thru Costco travel before everything clamped down and now travel is banned for another month thru the end of May. Air Tahiti won't refund the full amount so we were forced to pay a $500 cancellation fee for our 2 tickets. Unbelievable!!!! Our departure date was supposed to be May 26...

Cook Islands - any rec not experiences?

I'm seriously considering 12 days or so on Rarotonga & Aitutaki for me and my wife early this summer. Have been seriously considering Moorea & Rangi but the cost would be very high and we have what will be a pretty expensive family trip in 2021 to Italy for my wife's parents 50th anniversary...

    Fiji

We had an incredible trip at Wananavu for 12 days in 2012. My wife and I loved it. Bligh waters were phenomenal. The resort was great, onsite dive op was great, food was really good and the service was great as well. Not sure if Wananavu has changed hands or if the Americans have left the...

Need a new primary handheld light

Howdy all... Haven't bought a new light in just about forever. I'm looking for a new handheld primary light for taking along on day dives to check out crevices or to use on swim-throughs. I would also like it to be suitable for using on a night dive. I will be using it in tropical locales...

Trip Report Trip report - Southern Cross Club, Little Cayman, June 2019

The lead guy is Mike. He's been there for many years now. Good guy & very knowledgeable. Didn't meet any Eds. All of the staff, dive & others, were all really great.

Trip Report Trip report - Southern Cross Club, Little Cayman, June 2019

Also to note...the food & drink prices at the local stores were crazy high! If staying at one of the condos, you really need to be aware of just how much food & drink will end up costing you overall. Anyone who has been there already will obviously know this but for the first timers trying to...

Trip Report Trip report - Southern Cross Club, Little Cayman, June 2019

Doctorfish...That's why I post reviews here. I like to paint a picture of who we are & what we are looking for, and then how it all panned out for us. It probably helps a lot of people plan future trips. It was the situation with our very honest review of or Bohio/Grand Turk trip last summer...

Trip Report Trip report - Southern Cross Club, Little Cayman, June 2019

Kathy...we actually had a couple on the boat that were staying at The Club that spent 2 or 3 days diving with SCC. I'm not sure how that place works out on price...never researched it. They also had some meals at SCC so not sure of the details, but I guess it can be done. Maybe it depends on...

Trip Report Trip report - Southern Cross Club, Little Cayman, June 2019

Kind of figured/heard there would be a lot more people/divers at LCBR. And that turned out to be correct. Looked pretty nice though. Didn’t consider Pirates Point...didn’t look to be as nice as what we were looking for going as a couple. Going with the buddies trying to get the best deal...

Trip Report Trip report - Southern Cross Club, Little Cayman, June 2019

I think because it is a pretty small resort and the fact that there are so many repeat customers you don't see many reviews here. One lady diving with friends was on her 27th trip to SCC!!! I think that says something! There was always a 2 tank trip in the morning and they would do either an...

Trip Report Trip report - Southern Cross Club, Little Cayman, June 2019

Went to Little Cayman for 10 nights at SCC June 1 thru 11. Had an excellent experience and just want to pass on some details for those who might be considering LC and/or SCC. Wife & I went sans kids...our 2 boys stayed with Grandparents so we were looking for peace & quiet, relaxation and...

The Sargassum Weed Influx Has Hit All 3 Cayman Islands Very Hard

Very bad right now at southern cross club on little cayman. Beach in front of the resort is clogged & unswimmable. It’s basically creating a red tide in the sound near the beach.

Booked Southern Cross Club on LC for June 1-11, any tips?

KathyV The diving on Grand Turk was great! Very short boat rides. The think I heard the Osprey DOES NOT allow cruisers on property so that might be a better choice and it's not that far away from Bohio's location, so still short boat rides. Bohio is pretty well aged as far as the rooms go...

Booked Southern Cross Club on LC for June 1-11, any tips?

That's one of the things we won't miss about Grand Turk! GT & Bohio was awesome when the cruisers weren't around. Unfortunately, Bohio allows them on property and some days were just crazy. There was almost a fight one day between a staff member & a cruiser!! We really like the very small...
