    Weekend cave diving France

Glad you had fun. Those are the 4 classic I should say. How far did you go ? And just for spelling sake, it's : Ressel, Landenouse, St Georges, Font del Truffe.

    CE Requirement in Europe

Not really, it has more to do with Aqualung/Air Liquide (at that time) lobbying for it. To the best of my knowledge, we're the only ones in Europe so fixed on this contraption. Never seen German, nor an Italian diver using it.

    CE Requirement in Europe

M26 is supposed to avoid confusion when filling a mix with more than 40% O2, and not risking to fill a non O2 clean tank. Not so sure.

    CE Requirement in Europe

M26 is a damned nuisance ! Every rebreather sold here, is fitted with this contraption. Almost the same for deco bottles, lots of filling stations refuse to fill anything above 40% O2 if you don't have that horrible M26.

    CE Requirement in Europe

Well, you'll be asked for your certification on your machine, some operators check the log book, some don't. Concerning the CE, they won't check the machine itself. They just refer to a list of CE approved rigs, if yours is not there, no diving for you. Maybe if you just require filling and...

    CE Requirement in Europe

I can confirm it'll be extremely difficult to dive a non CE rig in France.

    TAC Scuba Fins

Don't want to open a can of worm, but to me, they look A LOT like Force Fins.

At what age did you switch to the rebreather? (From OC)

I think it'd be interesting to compare the motivation behind the age as well. As far as I'm concerned, voted 45 to 50 (49 to be precise). Why ? - money, previously it was just day dreaming - found the right rig, rather a late comer on the (French) market : Triton mccr. Previous competitors...

    Backup regulators on dive trips?

If trip means flying, I don't carry a backup any longer. Guess why ? I tend to pack the lightest equipment. As far as my regulator's concerned, I travel with my Scubapro Mk11 + S660 + DS + SPG, without any backup, that's why I check it underwater (local diving pool) before my trip. While...

    The Checklist Sticker

Ok, thank you for the translation  I think I'll make my own sticker to dive my MCCR Triton.

    The Checklist Sticker

Very good idea, the form factor is particularly interesting, not cumbersome like a slate for example. Just one question, what does MAV stand for ? And please, before thrashing me, bear me with a minute and remember : my natural language is French, not English, our acronyms for rebreather diving...

    Weekend cave diving France

Well, I'd say 1 week without rain would help, the problem is it's been pouring buckets almost everyday in South West France for about 2 weeks. I'm not sure if the weather's about to improve. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

Help me choose my first rebreather Kiss Sidewinder vs Triton

Triton is mccr indeed, That's why I find it way better than any eccr, no problem with the electronic. When equipment is concerned, we all have different agendas, needs, likes and dislikes, and I think it's especially true when choosing a rebreather, that's why it's important to compare them...

Help me choose my first rebreather Kiss Sidewinder vs Triton

Well, still very satisfied with it. Just on regret : not being able to dive as much as I'd like. Poor weather and family obligations. I'm close to 40h with the rig now, so I'm still stuck to air deco...

    Weekend cave diving France

I'll second that, here's the webpage. And there's also this guy. But be sure to check the rules for visiting France, with this damned Covid business, everything gets complicated.

    Hi all from France!

Lucky you ! Most of French islands are still terra incognita for me, except "Les Saintes", where I hope to return one day.In Arcachon, did you dive inside the Bassin (sorry no English for that) or off the coast ? There are some nice wrecks there, but it requires long navigation. In case you're...
