Malta had something for everybody. There's easy dives and very advanced dives. If you manage to take an advanced course that will open up options. You could also look to do that there. I've been there 5 times already and every time I've tried new dives so you will have lots of options. As...
Thank you. Funnily enough I pretty much have no symptoms. Only for having to do that test, I'd be going around blissfully unaware. Was very much looking forward to it but there's use crying over spilled milk. I'll get my fix of diving on YouTube.
In the end I didn't make it to Thailand. I did my pre-departure PCR test and it came back positive  I had to cancel the trip. Blue Label Diving have given me a refund (big shout out to them for that ) and I can re-book on the MV Giamani anytime in the next 2 years. Will have to shuffle a...
I really enjoyed diving with the B24 Diving Centre. They have a boat just a few metres from the diving shop and they were very flexible about how you dive based on your abilities and confidence.
Yeah I heard back that sometimes they could do that with the right planning . That would be ideal for me as it's just easier to get in and out of the water once in a drysuit rather than twice :D
Thanks Merlyne. They are the site that comes up when I search that looks quite modern. Their FB page is a bit quiet but that's probably because there's not a huge amount going on at the moment.
Hi Wibble,
That is quite tempting to be honest and something I've been considering. I'm hoping my new suit (Santi) arrives in time for Thailand as I'm disliking the fit of my O'Three even after some changes. I'm hoping that will improve my confidence with it.
As Thailand is really the only place open in Asia at the moment, I booked at trip to Phuket at the end of December. Does anyone have any recommendations of dive shops that do CCR diving on the island? I basically want to build up my hours for my MOD2 course.
Thanks
I was supposed to be in Vis this week but I couldn't find anywhere to stay :(
It's an amazing island for wrecks. The Vassilios, Brioni and B-24 stick out in my mind. One thing though is they all tend to be on the deeper side (tending towards 35m+). It can get a bit chilly as you go deeper.
I still remember my course last year and all the drama throughout it. I learned a lot and have done a decent amount of diving since then but there's still a lot to learn. It's an exciting journey and I've really enjoyed all the diving since around Malta, Croatia and Egypt. Keep up the work and...
Oh interesting. I think I'll use my money for a standalone computer and some diving. It's something to look at in the future though (this damn money pit :))
That's why I was wondering about weight. The BOV does have some weigh attached and I realised looking at the pic of the Nerd that it will have a bit more weight too. I had forgotten about bailout though. I'll get a standalone computer now which is probably useful if I ever do want to be lazy and...
Good point on the bailouts. Besides the need to do it in an emergency situation, I'm working on building up my hours for MOD2 so I might end up having to do that a good bit on that course.
There's a extra port for connection but it still goes to the same 3 O2 cells.
Thank you both. I don't have a gag strap and have a BOV so it sounds like it'll be heavy then. I'm leaning towards a standalone device now. Thanks for the very quick replies .
