I agree that the format made it suspect, before I even knew the content. My comment was mostly directed at the fact that it appears a chinese version of the Bauer now exists. If one were shopping for a Bauer, it would now be prudent to be sure it is the genuine item & not a knock off.
This guy highlights some of the reasons why a 3 phase motor & a drive can be advantageous. He manages to run a Bauer Jr with a 2hp motor off a drive that runs off a 3kw inverter that runs off a big battery bank. He takes about 45 minutes to fill a scuba tank, so he is belted for a slow running...
This is more than a little scary -
This top 6 list of compressors is all Chinese junk. #3 looks like a Bauer Jr. Buyer beware when buying second hand or grey market. It appears that knock offs are out there.
I found this chart in the 2005 Bauer Jr II manual -
The filter with no CO removal had slightly better capacity numbers. It was on the previous page.
The manual can be found here - JUNIOR
For my fellow Americans out there:
20c = 68f
25c = 77f
30c = 86f
35c = 95f
You may have already answered a question that I was going to ask. I was wondering if the CO sensors were able to work correctly at 2k-5kpsi. Your post would seem to indicate that a bleeder is attached to the output & a small amount is sent to the sensor then expelled as waste gas.
The auto dump system is set up with normally open unloader valves on both the primary coalescer & the P0 stack. When power is lost, they open & everything gets dumped. I should probably add manual valves in series so that I can isolate the system when the unit shuts down. The Brownies auto...
The compressor I am working with now, has auto drains. The drain system dumps all pressure out of the stack when the system shuts down. Because of this, I am concerned that the cartridge will degrade much faster than normal. I am looking for two things. I am looking for a way to indicate...
I don't have before pictures. They would have been too terrible to take. I will get some mid project pictures as a starting point.
You are the second person to point me towards filter techs. They are a great source of parts & supplies.
Actually, I need to thank you for nudging me to get to work on that thing. It was not as bad as I thought it would be.
Pictures aren't quite ready yet, but I have made a lot of progress.
3 failed high pressure fittings have been identified & replaced. It turns out that the cylinder valves...
Magnetic Motor Starters
The next step up from a manual motor starter, is a magnetic motor starter. These are not as simple to wire nor inexpensive as a manual starter, but they have some advantages, especially if you want to add some control features, like automatic shut off at a preset...
Ah, local to you, not local to the BHB. Thank you for clearing that up for me.
The only mermaid community I had known of previously was the annual Brooklyn Mermaid Parade, which is something very different. Perhaps I'll have to look into this. Her outfit was very well done. Somebody put in...
