    Blue Heron Bridge Trolls III

3:53pm tide today. We got there before one, and parking was available as beach goers left. By the time we headed in at 2:40, cars were looking more like sharks! OMG it was cold! Water temp dropped from yesterday down to ..according to my computer 73°on the west side. We got out after an hour and...

    Carrying a pointer stick

interesting. When I was in Bonaire last year, jt was grilled into us no muck sticks, pointers of any kind, and absolutely NO touch anything!. I assumed that rule to be everywhere, not just with the outfit we dived with. I came to the conclusion thats why not many nudi or froggie photos ... No...

Ft Lauderdale / Pompano Beach Dive Thread

As an avid beach diver, my thoughts... Winds finally died. It usually takes a day or so for vis to clear up. If current weather pattern keeps, it should be good for the weekend. Typically I use this metric for shore diving. From the east, less than 10mph. From the west less than 15. Also watch...

Flag line getting fouled on fins - rope float idea

as for getting tangled up, sometimes I will loop it around my leg to keep it out of the way, and lessen tension on the clip or hand holding the spool.

Flag line getting fouled on fins - rope float idea

I would not intentionally clip a flag to me, unless its easy to unclip as soon as you hear a boat approaching. I shore dive and have numerous times seen prop wash while toting the flag! Too many boaters, jet skies, and even SUP are clueless. Yes, I had a SUP grab my flag.. Oh and the fisherman...

    Blue Heron Bridge Trolls III

The turtle you saw was probably one of the two semi-resident greens that hang out on the east side. As for critter spotting, go slow. Smaller critters are hard to spot if moving too fast. Its octopus season, so should be plenty out and about.. but they are good at blending in. Again. Go slow...
