    Recent outage

I didn't even think of that. I'll try to remember next time. Our ISP moved servers around and failed to inform us.

AOW "elective" dives don't seem so elective.

The quality of your AOW experience depends on the instructor, and not the agency, nor the dive op. You can either treat this as a card collecting activity or a chance to learn the true art of Scuba.

Approval in marketplace for every post?

No. However, if you post more than one on the first go, they all sit in limbo until one of us goes in and approves them for you. Weekends tend to take longer as we are diving, going to church, etc, etc.

Indeed. Sorry, but the lack of you lacking neutral buoyancy is a mostly an instructor decision to not teach it in OW. I had a same kind of class, and I turned out fine after figuring it all out. It just doesn't have to be that way. This might help: Master Neutral Buoyancy: The Importance of...

Be sure to check out the ScubaBoard Surge (Cozumel in January} and our Invasion (TBA in June). Always fun with a bunch of safety minded people. I'll be teaching a free NitrOx class, and a free neutral buoyancy clinic. AOW can be arranged, but would not be free.

    Free NASE NitrOx Class

As a caveat, this class, albeit free to the participant, has been well received in the past. I present a unique perspective on safety in terms of limits.

How important is it to stick with your original agency for ADV OW?

Forget the agency: choose a great instructor. For many, it's nothing more than ticking off boxes. A few choose to impart insight and their philosophy. My experience was not worth the plastic card it was printed on.

Horizon might be a better choice for you. They occupy the space next to Slate's old place. At least they did when I left 9 years ago when I left the Keys. What's the nature of the book? I can't remember the dive-op that took over Slate's space, but they were good too. Between you and I, RR is a...

    ScubaBoard SURGE Central 2026 Cozumel

Free NitrOx??? Who ever heard of such a thing? OK, I guess I'll up the ante with free NitrOx classes thru NASE. I'll start another thread on it. If there is any interest, I'll be happy to do a trim/buoyancy clinic if we can find an appropriate venue. Any surge attendee can also contact me to...

What’s Your Favorite Dive Spot for Beginners?

The Keys are great and safety is way above par. I do a lot of new dives in the North Florida Springs.
