This is the genuine Johnson Outdoors/ ScubaPro site. The fake one does a good job in copying it.

    Belize and/or Cozumel+Tulum

Having racked up nearly 200 dives in Belize and a fare few in Mexico, my preference is Belize (and back again with the SB Invation). Have a look at ReefCI as something different, but the diving out of San Pedro isn't too bad. The reef is quite a way off the mainland so its practical to stay on...

BSAC Advanced Instructor Course/Exam - any tips?

Keep in mind an AI is expected to teach add-hoc lessons. You’ve already proved you can teach the BSAC syllabus up to DL. Concentrate on Dive Planning, know how to read charts (whether RIB or Hard-boat), study different kit configurations. Brush up on navigation and rules of the road for boating...

    Question Drysuit Undergarment DuctTape???

Some valves even when open need a help by pressing the button. From your dive count, you’re still learning when to start dumping. I think it took over 100 dives to be comfortable ascending by not leaving it too long. Also, when did you last do a weight check, being overweighted means you’re air...

    Beginner Diving in Curacao??

I have often hired a guide. I don’t like groups and I don’t solo dive. One time my regular buddy (an Assistant Advanced Instructor) was limited my time underwater so I paid for a guide. During the pre-dive brief I check they are capable of doing the dive I want, if not I modify the plan.

Recent experiences with cutters in carry on?

Only once in nearly 40 years of international travel have I had bags delayed. That was because the transit time was too short - less than an hour.

Kit Insurance (travel) - (UK only - no US insurance!)

Have a look at Westfield Marine Insurance to see whether they meet your expetations. I've used them for the last 15 years (2 or 3 trips a year) or so, but never had to make a claim.

Diving in Okinawa late march/early april

@gwklein pretty will covered it. In most places, if you’re not doing a course you’re responsible for planning your dive not the operator. The only way to ensure you get good equipment is to own and bring your own. Which I do, only tanks and lead are operator provided.

Diving in Okinawa late march/early april

How a dive shop maintains their equipment has nothing to do with the agency they advertise. The agencies are only interested the “training” standards the shop follows, how a shop manages “fun” diving usually has nothing to do with the agency.

    scuba diving scotland

Most diving is arranged between buddies or clubs. There are some commercial operators, but they mainly run courses. Diving is either on the East or West coast, if you use an Edinburgh or Glasgow outfit then you must travel to whichever coast they're using - Maintly the West coast less affected...

And in the U.K. we don’t accept any GP signing this form, it must be a member of the UKDMC. Age is not a trigger to contact a diver doctor.
