As I'm sure you know the BP/W system is designed to be modular. You can use any backplate or wing with whatever harness system you prefer. I have two setups. One is a Dive Rite wing and SS backplate. The other is a Deep6 wing with HOG aluminum backplate. Both use the basic harness...
Mostly good suggestions.
However, experienced divers who are also considerate human beings already follow these "rules" as long as circumstances permit.
New or less experienced divers, who are considerate human beings, risk tying themselves in knots trying to absorb everything after the OP...
The dive shop has to be licensed or certified by the park to conduct dives at Cabo Pulmo. That's why an op from Cabo San Lucas has to use a dive shop local to Cabo Pulmo. The park only allows a certain number of trips and divers per week at each of the dive sites. Each op gets to pick one of...
I definitely understand that asymptomatic people can still spread the virus and that their immune system response will be different than those with symptoms. I don't understand why an asymptomatic individual would have serious lung damage, without knowing that something was wrong. It just...
....and how do you know that any of these insurance plans, including DAN, remain solvent. In my opinion @NDL_Diver is right. Figure out the total cost to do this on your own, if everything goes wrong, and then make your decision on that basis.
Canadian borders are closed to everyone but citizens, permanent residents and their immediate relatives plus US citizens. However our provincial government is asking Americans to not visit if they can avoid it. I expect that God's Pocket thought it would be best to just scrub the season.

You only need two holes to attach the wing. If they aren't in the right place you can drill new ones.....but I suspect you won't need to as most plates have multiple holes already and the wings have more than 2 places to put bolts.
I also think that DK is more applicable to the "intermediates" in any higher risk activity than it is to the newbies. These are the people who actually have the skills and experience to do the activity safely in most situations but unfortunately take that to mean "all situations". This is the...
I have a bit of a different take on Dunning Kruger. I see it as applicable to people who overrate their skills/abilities and see no reason to learn anything more. In my opinion it doesn't necessarily apply to people with less than adequate skills who know they need to keep learning, even if...
When were you there last ? We like the restaurant in Steps and Garden, where we usually stay, for Philippine food, or Papa Freds. Tamarind has decent food too, but there were too many smokers for us last time we were there. North Vancouver is pretty much a smoke free environment outside private...
One of the reasons we dove with Buceo Anilao is that their pricing is per diver per dive. I didn't want to take a chance on us having to pay the entire fee for the boat.
My exhaust valve was doubled over. Didn't discover it until I tried to descend and got a mouthful of water. Take your second stage apart and check the diaphragm and exhaust valve. Look for any cracks in the housing or tears in the mouthpiece.
