    It also amazes me how many of the 'deaths reported' here are divers without buddies at the time. From reading these for years, it has instilled in me that the possibility of death while diving, if I am in contact with my buddy, is dramatically decreased.

    I'll second this. We did our first trip ever in the fall this year (september), got out of there just before the rains came. And it seems since then, it's been bug city. Later winter/early spring is great! Edit: I thought this was the Bonaire sub....

    My kid did his AOW there. Instructor was fantastic. Highly recommended. Been diving with them overall numerous times (3-5 days at a time) and always top notch.

    I doubt any possible thieves would be out and about with all the bugs as well. In all our trips, we leave nothing valuable, and personally, I lock the truck. If they want to take the chance for flip flops, go for it.
