Rigging Your DSMB- A New Take On An Old Problem

If you accidentally sit on the smb when you are gearing up on the boat, it will cause the bolt snap to release. Then when you stand up to get ready to dive, you will have a mess. Been there done that. I rig mine like in the John Chatterton /smb thread posted a few days ago. Put a 1 inch...

Rigging Your DSMB- A New Take On An Old Problem

If you move the bolt snap to the left in those pictures, the lever will press on the spool opening the gate.

    zeagle stiletto

I tried one a 2-3 years ago when I needed something lighter for travel. It seemed heavy at the time and had more lift than I needed for my warm water diving. I was about to order one when I saw promos for the aqualung outlaw which was about to come onto the market and it fit the bill at about...

It's a bit heavy for a travel BCD. It was great 10 years ago, but there are better alternatives.

Talk to me about PADI Divemaster cert.

Yes I do. I make it a point not to offer unwarranted advice, but I'm always glad to help. Was on a group dive recently and I really enjoyed pointing some marine life to a couple of very young divers whose eyes lit up when they saw their first green moray.

Have nitrox, don't care for tec (or deep diving, caves, or diving in anything else but warm water), and no interest in photo.

Talk to me about PADI Divemaster cert.

There really isn't any other options locally (I'm on L.I.) And the dive shop is good people... just dead this time of year so I get that he's not hanging around the counter all day long.

Talk to me about PADI Divemaster cert.

Been contemplating doing this. Not sure why... just winter doldrums I guess. There's obviously some online work that it entails, but tell me about the other part of it. Lots of schools have a whole interning thing for a couple of weeks, but that is difficult for me as I work full time and I'd...

Looking for new dive computer recommendation

I went from a geo2 to a perdix to a teric as soon as it came out. You will love the change from the tiny grey lcd of the geo and the AI is worth every cent as you don't have to fumble around for your spg... just look down at your wrist.

Pompano Dive Center and charters going out of business...

I always like to have a cold beverage and little bite after a day of diving and enjoy it more on the water.

    Shearwater Teric wish list

SW should make a bare bones backup computer that can be clipped to a BC. It should simply have a rec mode indicating depth, dive time, NDL, and max depth with just a couple of configurable settings including %O2 and GF. Or maybe have bluetooth sync function with the teric. Maybe create an AI...

Downloading picture from a DC1400 to a Tablet

Tablets and phones dont have the storage and power to hold and edit large picture and video files. Your best bet is to use a PC to upload the files to the cloud if you want to view them on your tablet at a later date.
