A repository of 3D print STL sources

If you don't have elephant's foot issues (or can do some touch-up), print it in two halves. Getting kinda small, but not impossible. ETA: Like this: Print two of these, place the two halves together, put the ring on and they'll be held together by the ring and the outer tool during the operation.

That's for the outer hose ring on the male end, though -- he's looking for the tool for the inside O-ring. Looks pretty straightforward, though getting a tight slip fit from FDM printing will be fiddly. (Also, for general reference, see this post and the rest of that thread, also this thread.)

Dive Computer Not Calling for a Safety Stop

    1. You are in control of the dive, not the computer. If you determine that a stop is advisable, then make a stop. 2. Based on experiences with other computers — not yours — it is fairly common for dives that end with an extended shallow period to be interpreted as having performed the safety...

    Question Suunto Transmitter Modification, Possible???

“For storage”? I do not see that recommended anywhere, and I presume the battery is lithium based, which pretty much eliminates battery leakage as a concern. ”200 dives or 2 years”, otherwise stop fiddling with it.

    Question Suunto Transmitter Modification, Possible???

It doesn’t; that plastic case isn’t a hundredth the strength required to withstand HP pressures. The case (if properly sealed) maintains 1 ATM, and is subject to dive pressures on the exterior from the water column (e.g. Δ4 ATM or Δ59 psi at 133 fsw; Δ14 ATM or Δ206 psi at its max rated depth...

Any good resources on designing threaded parts?

McMaster Carr has CAD models of nearly everything they sell (and they sell nearly everything.) Find a thing with the threading you need, merge it into your part (or subtract it from your part, as appropriate), and you're done. (*Not really, but close. Also, insert a step where you scale it by...

Touching Female Cave Students By Consent: An Instructor's Perspective

Just FWIW: Not a dive instructor, but am a (currently inactive) firearms instructor. Further complicating matters, a significant fraction of the students were victims of stalking, assault, or sexual assault. Without digging out my notes, part of the intro material was: On the range it's a...
