Kiss Orca Spirit LTE/Sidewinder O-ring sizes

Interesting, they have refused to give these to me.

    Oxygen Scientific GREENFLASH O2 Sensor

Yes I'm running two galvanic and one optical currently. I use it exactly the same as a galvanic. Your calibrating the PDC not the sensor. Only difference is you have to expose it to PPO2 of >0.35 to activate it before you start the linearity check. The sensor will stay active until it reads...

    Dive Talk Go Rebreather

It's more like a zigzag, so you have to lean left while tipping up, then tip down while leaning left again. I'm not say it isn't possible, but it's not a direct path.

    Dive Talk Go Rebreather

Based on this thread I should be dead. By some accident, my SW1 has never failed me either before or during a dive. I've had buddies on Megs, Tiberons, JJs, and Choptimas bailout/site out due to unit issues.

    Oxygen Scientific GREENFLASH O2 Sensor

I was out of the water more than usual last year, but 6 to 9 months with occasional diving has been my experience. This is with it installed, so it never goes into "deep sleep". What I've noticed is when the battery is low, it will periodically read zero when on the surface. I never saw this...

Did Learning Rebreather Improve you SAC rate?

@JackZwykle Well, your OC SAC matters because it's the basis for bailout planning. I'm not aware of anyone trying to calculate there CCR SAC. Have you adjusted your bailout planning SAC based on your new increased OC SAC? I don't plan to change mine based on my lower numbers, but it does...

Did Learning Rebreather Improve you SAC rate?

I tend to attribute it to improved buoyancy. I had Full Cave and Trimix before getting the breather, and thought I had good or even excellent buoyancy, but I find my OC buoyancy greatly improved now that I have several hundreds of hours on the breather.

Did Learning Rebreather Improve you SAC rate?

Before getting rebreather certified, I heard that SAC rates often degrade. However, my experience was different. Recently, I went on an open circuit cave trip in Mexico using a drysuit, sidemount, and doing primarily stage dives. My average SAC rate was 0.35 cuft/min. Before rebreather training...

    Considering jumping to rebreather?

Preferably you have a likeminded buddy that is willing to progress with you and become a solid teammate. 1/2. If you're not already doing it, get a dry suit and get some experience with it. 1. Find a good tech instructor to teach you doubles and get some dives to familiarize yourself with...

Using hose clamps to mount accessories to side of tank?

@SouthernSharktoothDiver all those other accessories should be in pockets/securely stowed when not in use.

    Oxygen on surface

Subsurface will model surface O2. Up to a ~50 minute pre breath it shows a 3 minute increase in NDL at 100'. That stays same up to about ~200 minutes, after that it starts to reduce NDL. I'm not sure what is up with the model there.

Using hose clamps to mount accessories to side of tank?

I have run full speed on my DPV with 4 stages into flow no one can swim against and nothing is "flapping around". Having done exactly what your proposing a lonnnnnng time ago, I recommend simply slinging your pony and maybe bungee the valve back to keep it tight. You'll be surprised how it...

    Oxygen on surface

Pre dive O2 is prohibitive as the low pressure gradients would require a long time to make a difference. I'll do post dive O2 if I feel the decompression was inefficient for some reason or if I have a short time to an ascent to altitude/flying. BTW: You don't need to be trained to breath O2...

Is Rule of Thirds incompatible with decompression diving?

Implied by others, but I'm just going to say it. Rule of thirds for open water deco dives is dumb. I can come up with examples where it is both overly conservative and dangerously underestimates gas needs. Learn to plan min gas to get you and a teammate out safe. If you have an overhead...

Question Why would Peregrine TX give me PPO2 alarm?

We use the term partial pressure to define amount of a specific gas in a mixture referenced to on bar of pressure. So pure oxygen at seal level has a partial pressure oxygen of 1.013 or 101.3% of oxygen density @ 1 bar. Pure oxygen at 6k ft has a partial pressure of 0.80 or 80% of the density...

    Dive Talk Go Rebreather

Funny, I would think judging your remaining scrubber on o2 consumption would be one of the best ways to monitor. For me, I feel they match quite well.

    2 Side Mount AL40's and a Back Mount S100?

@coldcanbefun The fact you like to tinker and are considering this config makes me think you will be moving into more advanced diving in the future. It can not be understated how much safety familiarity and seamless protocols brings to advanced diving. From this standpoint, talk of using...
