For the initial ascent, depth is most important, time can be discussed later. When you get to bigger dives a couple minutes deviation in time can equal 10/20' (3/6m) difference in first stop depth. Not agreeing on target depth is asking for team separation.
Just got back from Bonaire. As my wife likes Oil Slick Leap I dove it 5 times without issue. That's about 10'(3m) to the water. As @inquis said I use Paracord loop and double enders for ingress and egress, bungees only on while in the water.
Looks like a fairly standard skeleton harness. I made my own years ago and have used it with three different wings (Deco, Razor, Xdeep). I'm sure you can make it work.
With practice, side tanks and 4 stage/deco tanks can be done proficiently. I dive 108s + 3 80s fairly regularly. The winder makes it a bit more difficult, but practice practice practice.
Not bad except most CCR divers I know tend to do nearly all dives on the CCR. This is partly because being on CC is simple a blissful way to dive, and because you don't just strap on a CCR and do a 60/70 meter dive without lots of recent practice.
@mr_v Faber 108s CCR side mount with TRIMIX are glorious. Probably easier to get your hands on and may be cheaper as well.
Caveat: I don't need a lot of lead. With NX in LP85s I'm way overweighted, even with my Halo undergarment.
Floating through the cave motionless on a CCR, just the gentle nudge of the flow and the sound of your own breathing. Doesn't get much more serene than that.
I can't believe I'm stepping into this.
When I listened to this talk during RF4, my 25 years of statistical analysis and engineering experience sent off blaring sirens of wrongness. The conclusion was based on having the same total number of incidents annually with no compensation for the...
As a numbers guy, I sometimes get stuck on no longer getting as many dives. I have to force myself to notice I'm getting 3 times as much in water time.
Why go through the brain strain of looking at mv underwater? Your cells are calibrated, if PPO2 is outside of expected something is off. Dill flush to cell check.
As for the 1.6 check, why does it need to be @ 6m and with a full flush. You can check for current limiting at any point during...
If you get a CCR you will find you want to do all your dives on it, not just the deeper ones. This will add up your hours/dives way quicker. If your only doing 25 dives/year, CCR is not for you.
I have a Razor 2.5 that used to be my only wing and I did a lot of big dives (drysuit, LP85s, 3xStages). I have an Xdeep now and the Razor only comes out for recreational warm water wetsuit dives. They both have the same size bladder on paper, but the Xdeep is simply more comfortable when you...
