I consider Sport Chalet to be a big Sporting Good store, and my local Sports Chalet seems to have embraced scuba...They do air fills (not mine, but they do some...) have equipment, offer instruction, etc.

I think Drew means..."no" deco limits...heh I think if you are that low on air the best thing to do is to safely ascend, and get to the best air supply available (the atmosphere...). Though both are *bad*, running out of air and dying is infinitely less preferable to DCS.

You have it quite close... I like to be roughly neutral at ten to fifteen feet with 500psi or so in your tank. I err on being a pound heavy, rather than a pound light. Scubaboard has seen this subject a number of times...there is probably lots of info available which you can find using...

If you are going to buy from them exclusively(and pay their higher prices), I hope they at least give you the air for free...Otherwise, aren't you paying twice for the air (since that seems to be the primary reason you cite for using your LDS exclusively)?

You don't say what you are using for exposure protection...But, a wetsuit obviously operates just as you say...Perhaps the wetsuit (if that is what you are using) is too loose in the areas you are having trouble with? What thickness suit are you using? A drysuit is another story altogether...

What kind of dive trip? If its a liveaboard, don't forget earplugs...Boats sometimes move at night, and you can sleep easier with earplugs...
