Does a nitrox tank rust more inside?

Perhaps they meant "when connecting it to the fill whip" ? Especially with a DIN valve, if you don't blow any residual water out of the threads in the valve before connecting the fill whip, that water can be forced into your cylinder during the fill process.

    What does DIR mean?

Now after seeing the difference between the two sources of instruction, are you at all surprised that the average drop-out rate for diving after several years is 80-90%? When diving isn't FUN and people are anxious before each and every dive...diving sucks -- people are always on edge, then...

What's in your dive reference library?

Let me introduce you to the Rubicon Research Repository's Suggested Reading List. While this isn't a listing of "reference books", it is a very valuable source of information for basic diving physiology. Don't forget to check out the Rubicon Research Repository while you are at it... To...

    What does DIR mean?

Nice to see that we are all acting like adults these days... Come'on -- you dive like you want to, I'll dive like I want to, easy as that.

They Didn't Peel Off the Sticker

Whenever my cylinders go in for visual inspection, I remove all the stickers beforehand...

Does a nitrox tank rust more inside?

Well... For starters, if you cylinder is rusting, there is something WRONG -- moisture in the cylinder is bad, whatever the source (compressor, atmospheric air, water from the ocean, etc). The most ubiquitous scuba cylinder is the aluminum 80. Aluminum doesn't rust -- that just isn't a...

    Wanted 2 LP steel 100's

To add to the above post... PST, Faber, and Worthington have LP95s. OMS used Faber 95s as 98s. PST made LP104s. Faber and Worthington make LP108s. But...no LP100s...

    HID Explorer cases?

I use a generic case for storage -- just makes it easier to fit into my scuba cabinet.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I prefer all my cylinders plain. :)

    Ankle Weights

Holy crap, 18lbs in a 3/2? That is ridiculous. I would bet you don't need more than 6lbs.

Not sure why I would want a hydro on cylinders made in 2008...;)

    Tank Talk

That isn't 100% accurate... The 3442psi 80s are quite small, while LP80s are close to Al80s in size. To the OP I might also recommend a course in spelling and grammar...:eyebrow:

    72 cf aluminum

wedivebc -- that is most likely the case, but I have heard of the occasional 6061 cylinder coming up with neck cracks. Doesn't mean it is extensive or prevalent, but definitely possible.

    Doubles?

If it is a deep dive...possibly. How about a long shallow dive? I use 130s for cave diving. I don't NEED to use 130s, but my team chose 130s so that is what we use (I'll try my LP80s at some point). In Peacock our dives are usually in the 40-50ft range. We can dive practically all day at...
