I just got off the phone with Bill at Discovery and here are the Updates (Please be aware that the listed prices may exclude taxes so some of the actual costs could end up higher):
1. We've got the East lodge for 6 nights at $20ea/night. ($120/diver and I'm not sure when we have to pay for...
Don't throw in the towel yet, I'll bet that you'll be diving with us next summer if you want to. I already know that we have divers on the list who have conflicts with each of the weeks. So when we finally pick a week we'll see some divers drop off. Also when it comes time to write the checks...
That's a great quote. We've got one of the biggest boats available. We're looking at going out on the Seaquest II with Discovery Diving Discovery Diving Co., Inc. - North Carolina Wreck Diving in the Graveyard of the Atlantic
In all of the club trips we have organized in the past with the...
Great Question!
I am the Chairman of the Decatur Chapter of the xx Scuba Adventure Club. It's an employer sponsored activity club and funded by my employer. By Charter I cannot exclude any qualified xx employee from any club sponsored events. So a certified xx diver with appropriate experience...
Ok Here's who I have signed up so far, an * indicates a member of a qualifying club or relative. I included scubaboard handles where applicable. Please be aware that we will not have any instructors or divemasters leading the trip. Everyone's expected to have the appropriate experience or...
Holy Cow Batman!
The response is overwhelming. We've got 13 divers showing interest. That's really encouraging. Here's how it works, there's a maximum of 20 spots on the boat. If we have 16 divers in our group the boat belongs to us and the dive shop will not add any additional divers to the...
Hey y'all,
I'm putting together another trip to North Carolina to dive the U-boat next summer. Some of y'all went with us last time and the rest of you were envious. Anyway we're looking at diving Cape Lookout NC June 25-29 or July 8-12 next summer. If you want to know what the diving was...
Hey Robin,
I'm putting together another trip to Cape Lookout for next summer. We typically bring 10-13 expereinced divers for 4-6 days and hit some of the best wrecks there. Sounds like y'all will fit right in. you're welcome to join us if the dates work out. You can look up some trip report...
I agree with Nemrod on this. The overhead don is what we learned. Of course I don't do it on most dive boats because of the reasons previously stated. I'm a bit younger than Nemrod so it was taught to me at the beginning of the Jacket BC era. However very few of us had Jacket BC's and the class...
I've got the non-DVT with the DIN conversion. A good solid lightweight reg in my opinion. I think it is a good value reg. I haven't been to 200' with it but I have had it to 140' with no problems.

I've got and use that same tank. I also have the newer Worthington 100 230 convertible DIN which my regulator works with just fine. I have an Oceanic CDX5/GT3 regulator that has the DIN 300 conversion. So converting your regs should not be a problem. Also there is an inexpensive DIN to Yoke...
Hey welcome to the area. I think you'll like it. We have a active bunch here just jump into the Deep Dixie Divers forum and you'll find us. We have two local dive clubs that you can join. You have the NNDC that's meeting at 6:30 this evening at Market Street Cafe in Decatur and the SEAS club...
That's great, sounds like you need a professional to drive anyway, you jar heads are too used to running over and through stuff. I'll drop you a note next time I'm down there. I've got a smaller 2-band speargun. My 3-band sawed off magnum was stolen several years ago. I may need to replace it.

If you are looking for a bail out system IMHO this is the best system H2Odyssey...Air Systems
6 cu ft is about the minimum size I would consider for a straight bail to the surface. 13 cu ft would be about the minimum adequate size for me for most of my dives which would allow me anything...
