Hey Spark! I have the same problem but it was the keys that ruined my wife on lakes... luckily both of my kids dive with me.

Was there last weekend... maybe 8-10ft above the cline. I never got below 50ft but the viz did seem to start to open up around 40' to maybe 15'

I was just there last week. There is a sort of diving bell mounted to the ceiled at arounf 30 ft maybe. There is also a tunnel that goes around the back of the cavern that takes you to depths of near 100 ft. I can't iagine doing this with out SCUBA and a good dive light as the tunnel itself...

I just dove it for the first time on vacation last week... July 3. The guy working there said it had indeed been sold. I was also a little miffed at the $38/diver fee. I thought it was a little unreasonable.

OK so I took my wife on a 20 year belated honeymonn at the begining of July. We stayed at a resort called Hawks Cay in Marathon Fl. This place was absolutely fabulous and the rooms (non Oceanside) were about $230/night... 4 nights was real affordable. THe best part of this place was the dive...

OK I can now happily report that my Wife and son have now completed there OW checkouts and are now certified OW diver now we are no longer a family but a School!! To celebrate we are headed for the Keys next week!!!

Hey Bill, I was back at the dam area this weekend... you are right it is a great place to dive although you do have to go way out to get to deep water. I'm seriously wanting to take up spearfishing so I'd love your input on guns, techniques etc. I'm going to the Keys next week for 2 weeks but...

Just as an update to this thread... i was at the bluffs and dam site rec area this past weekend 6/9 and 6/10) and the Viz was about 20-25 FT... water temp on the surface was a cool 73 Degrees and the cline was at about 26 Ft. the lake was BEAUTIFUL for diving and I had a great bunch of dives and...
