    Pre-dive/post-dive exercise and DCS

That sounds like a nice way to go. I can run and swim a bit in the mornings, and dive all day. Maybe I´ll skip the morning workouts if I had a "heavy" day (some deep dives or close to NDLs). Thanks for the advice. I can plan on keeping my waistline in check. :eyebrow:

    Pre-dive/post-dive exercise and DCS

I read many of the threads regarding excercise and DCS here in Scubaboard. There is, as usual with DCS related issues, no conclusive answers. But the general consensus seemed to be that excercise before diving was good, while excercise (or strenous activity) after without an elapsed time was not...

Diving in and around Vera Cruz

There are basically two important shops there: Scubaver and Dorado Buceo. The Tourism board just assembled a very nice e-book regarding underwater Veracruz which you might enjoy. The three main destinations are basically North, Center and South. North being Isla de Lobos (logistically...

Dive gear you own that you consider perfect

The following items in my gear bag are now my standard: - Velcro mask strap (I like my Halcyon VERY much, but could use anything but a rubber strap!) - Comfobite mouthpiece - Hollis M1 mask - Hollis F1 fins - Miflex hoses - Suunto SK7 - The oral inflation valve on Halcyon´s SMBs ... the best...

    Adequacy of OW and AOW

My OW was really not very good. We were 4 people and to be honest, I was the only one really interested. But I recently took my AOW, and it was really good. The nav portion, we took it with 6 feet viz, so it really paid off. I really started to understand how to use my SK7 in very practical...

    Henderson Wetsuits Introduction

Just bought a Thermoprene 3mm, I surely will let you know how it turned out. The only problem will be I still have my first dive a month away. Damn city in the middle of nothing.

To buy or not to buy...(gear)

I don´t have that many dives under my belt, mid 20s, but I own my equipment. All of it. I live in a city that doesn´t even have water close by. But the comfort of diving in my own gear outweights everything. I even have a set of gear for my girlfriend, ready to go. Our plan is to dive as much as...

    Curse you Scubaboard!!!

But watching Odyssey (circa late 70s), doesn´t even begin to tell you the whole story. You have to go back to Le Monde Du Silence (1956) (The World of Silence), Cousteau´s first foray into the full length underwater film documentary. It is probably one of the most beautifully shot underwater...

Can PADI Specialty Course Dives Be Combined?

Also, I would add that combining kind of takes away the good deal. I just took AOW, and price consideration was a bit like this: I will get 4 dives that would have costed me 140 bucks. So if I pay 250 I get AOW Card (not really interested except for taking rescue), and at the same time I am...

Further dive training down in Cozumel

I am interested in organizing a trip for myself and a friend of mine that entails AOW + Rescue + Diving in beautiful Cozumel. We are both standard OW and have more or less the same experience diving. So it is a great opportunity to advance as a team of two in our training and take a nice...

    Hollis F1 fins

Just got me a pair of Hollis F1s. Used them for 5 dives. I have to say it, these are the best fins I have ever owned. They feel slightly negative, though they are not extremely heavy for travel. The spring strap is top notch and I really like the whole build quality. I am sure these will be...
