    AI transmitter & spool

As Inquis mentioned, not having the flow restrictor will not break your transmitter. Since you are able to get pressure reading on your dive computer holding it against the transmitter, then I recommend pulling the "new" batteries and checking them with a volt-meter. I would not be surprised if...

Continuous webbing vs adjustable harness for first BPW

The reality is the choice in either option doesn't really matter. Folks should pick whatever option appeals to their fancy and dive the crap out of their rig....if they don't like how it fits or functions then modify it. Here are some common examples: 1. There are those that buy the adjustable...

Question Aqualung Titan worth putting back into use?

DIN conversion kits for the older Titan are like hens' teeth, especially since that version of the Titan 1st stage has been out of production for a number of years. -Z

Question Why would Peregrine TX give me PPO2 alarm?

The default dive mode for the Peregrine-TX is "Air" mode, but if you or someone else purposely or inadvertently set it to "Nitrox" mode then the depth you hit during your dive coupled with the gas mixture imputed either purposely or accidentaly, could have triggered the PPO2 alarm. To better...

Question Aqualung Titan worth putting back into use?

Sorry that didn't work out. Chris and his wife own Dive Zone Scuba, and Chris uses the shop name as his username here on ScubaBoard...@divezonescuba. I know they sell and service Mares but thought they serviced other brands like Aqualung. The only other shop I am familiar with out that way is...

Question Ordering Seaskin, please double check

Si-Tech is a company based in Sweden and Light Monkey is a company based in the US. I suspect that it is less expensive for Seaskin to have products shipped from Sweden and imported into the UK compared to from the US. -Z

Question Ordering Seaskin, please double check

The Si-Tech Silflex silicone neck seals are available in size standard and small. There are raised rings molded into the seal to be used as a cutting guide if one's neck is too tight. I wear a dress shirt with an 18-inch neck measurement and find the standard size neck seal to be functionaly...

Question Ordering Seaskin, please double check

I recommend changing the Si-Tech docking system 60910 to the Si-Tech QCS oval option. The 60910 is the older, larger, and round Si-Tech QCP cuff system, you will be very limited with regards to an itegrated dryglove system with these cuff rings. The oval cuff system is much more versatile and...

Question Aqualung Titan worth putting back into use?

None of the divers in my circle would ever refer to the apparatus that helps sustain their life while below the surface as an "all-around beater", nor would they treat their regulator as such. I hope your word choice is not reflective of your dive and maintenance practices. -Z

    Insurance for diving equipment

In the USA, often homeowners or renters insurance will cover the loss of equipment. Sometimes you can have what is known as a "policy rider" for specific items (usually high cost items like jewelry, art, antiques, firearms, etc.) where the insurance company that provides your homeowners...

    Equipment Pressure gauge

It is an interesting thing and I agree with what you said above, but I would add that it is important to have a good idea where the needle is tracking on the guage dial every time one looks at it so that they don't find themself breathing the tank dry with a stuck needle giving the false...

    Equipment Pressure gauge

Realistically, an SPG is inexpensive and easy enough to replace regardless of issue, but a reading of a little high or a little low is not an issue if the reading is consistent....the issue is when there is a change, then the gauge cannot be trusted. -Z

What kind of dive profile are you doing that requires a 6min stop? Your post reads as if you are deco diving by the seat of your pants....and solo as well. -Z

Guide to Mares regulators from 2000-2020

The official Mares tool to remove the yoke nut is part # 46106201, and is a modified 25mm open end wrench. The modification is that the opening is elongated so that the jaws of the wrench reach around the 1st stage yoke and fully interface with the retaining nut. You can make this yourself by...

Lead dive weights in public swimming pools? What about stainless or tungsten shot weights?

Again, this is a short-sighted mentality. Just because you don't see the pollution doesn't mean it isn't being produced and having an impact. It is foolish to think that because your vehicle doesn't have a tail pipe, that the energy used to propel your vehicle is free of pollution. It is easy...

Lead dive weights in public swimming pools? What about stainless or tungsten shot weights?

EVs are probably one of the worst examples you could have raised to support your argument and endeavor. To purchase an EV you truly have to be willfully ignorant of the environmental impacts of producing the batteries and the subsequent impact of the battery's disposal when it eventually fails...
