Last year I was gifted an older steel HP80 and before using it I had a vis and hydro done on it in which it passed. I just took it in for it's vis inspection this year and got a call this morning saying that there is rust flakes inside the tank and that it needs tumbled before it will pass vis...
I just finished Nitrox class and it was a good class. I wasn't planning on taking it, but I got a killer deal on the class and couldn't pass it up. I want to use Nitrox on my next dive, but I don't think I will have my C-card before then.
I am wanting to get my DM rating because I am a Venture Crew Advisor, but I cannot take my Venturers out on a dive unless I have a DM rating even though they are OW certified. I even a have few that are Rescue certified. Hopefully the money issue will get better so I can afford the DM class. In...
I never thought of hitting Meadow on my way back from Sand Hollow. I'm diving Sand Hollow in May also. I'll take an extra tank to dive there on my way back.
I've never dove Meadow, what is the depth of it? I had no idea about this dive site. I am really interested in diving it. It may have to be a May dive though.
I will be hitting Blue Lake closer to the end of April. I'll email you with details if that dive interests you.
I found a full bottle of Mike's Hard Lemonade, but I ended up losing it while making a shore exit.
I also found a pair of bra and panties. I bet it was from some unlucky skinny dipper.
My first certified OW dive was at Bonneville Seabase in Utah, almost a year ago. I returned last weekend to dive it again and quickly remembered why we vowed never to go back, unless we need limited visibility dive training.
I was there on March 14th and vis was at least 15'. There were a number of groups there when I arrived and a bunch that were leaving. I believe FUNtastic Scuba was leaving, Dive Addicts had a Dry Suit group there as well as an OW group, then there was a group from Idaho too. There were about 20...
I only use 4lbs of added weight in a 7mm suit w/hood and gloves. I do use a Steel 80 and a SS BP though. This is all in Fresh Water. I believe I am around 10lbs in salt
I use OceanLog to get the info from my Dive Computer to my PC, then I manually enter it into my iPhone and also put the data into a new log site that is still in Beta called "DiveKeeper.com". I really like the site so far and they are still adding in new features.
I have a DIN setup and what I have found where I live in Utah is that I am one of maybe 5 divers that require the special DIN fill adapter, which they always misplace. I end up having to go to at least 2 different LDS just to get one fill.
If you do go DIN I would suggest getting your own fill...
I really enjoyed my Rescue Diver class, in fact I plan on attending the class when my brother takes it this spring. I have also gone further and become an EFR Instructor. I have also volunteered being a victim in upcoming rescue diver classes.
It was 100% worth it.
