We’re just back from CUR. No COVID requirements to enter CUR, and a rapid test to return to States. We stayed at Lions Dive for a week, diving with onsite Ocean Encounters and day trips with Dive Bus. All provided great service, as usual.
Stuart runs a good operation, although it can be busy at times. They run a pickup bus service to most hotels. Dives feature wrecks, although if you ask for macro, some of the DMs are excellent at finding the small stuff. There is a featured shark feeding dive. Not sure how I feel about it...
I would add that the comparison is P&S vs interchangeable lens cameras, as opposed to P&S and DSLRs. Canon/Nikon/SONY have all made the move to mirrorless, with DSLRs kind of yesterday's tech. That being said, there are great older DSLRs and they can be had for a steep discount on the resale...
Search the interwebs for a dive shop running a group trip. If you book through them you'll have the dive and hotel logistics worked out and a group to socialize with, if you want to. Doesn't have to be a dive shop anywhere near you.
And we need to be careful in making generalizations from studies based on limited data points. Note that this paper references results of 32 divers who make a single, 7 minute dive, to 42 meters depth.
Petitions are useless, looking at which locals might benefit from cruising business is closer, but more likely it's whose palms are being greased that is the key. And this exists everywhere. Here's just one instance from a NY community:
A $600 million mega-project developer Bruce Ratner wanted...
Not precisely the comparison you want, but I have a few observations. I shoot the SEL 90 on the A7R3 with dual YS D2 strobes. No experience with Olympus. The lens will occasionally “hunt” for focus, but is considered by reviewers to be on a par with the Canon and Nikon macro lenses for IQ. I...
I travel with Halcyon BP/W with the 6 #STA. I keep outbound gear bag, including BP/W and 3 mil wetsuit, mask/fins/regs/misc., just under 50#. (I roll another 40 ish in camera gear onboard!) On return trip, my gear bag would be overweight so Regs go in my backpack. By the way, if your BP/W is...
From US Department of Transportation website:
Cancelled Flight – A passenger is entitled to a refund if the airline cancelled a flight, regardless of the reason, and the passenger chooses not to travel.
This seems to be true for all classes of ticket. Most (some?) airlines are allowing...
I've had success with credit card companies in getting refunds when vendors have refused repayment, although not specifically with liveaboards. Worth a try.
If you are not familiar with this divesite, you should research it. Its subject to a strong current and the typical procedure is to deploy a granny line along with a line running from the granny line to about 10-15 feet down on the mooring line. Divers splash in at the stern, then pull...
There are several Farmacias in Playa that should be able to help you get a decongestant that will work. While the government made PSE illegal (which may have led to dangerously more potent crystal meth) Mexican Farmacias have many drugs available OTC which require a prescription in US. As an...
New cases in BON reported by WHO:

Not strikingly large at the moment, but with cases growing rapidly in the US and the Netherlands, it would be surprising if these numbers don't go higher.
