    Aluminum doubles

But if you are going to give an overfill on the steels in this discussion, you gotta give an overfill on the Aluminums too. Fair is fair. I have strapped on rental AL80's that had 3800 in em in the shade in Kona. Not that I am recommending aluminums over steels. I dive steel 120's.

    Aluminum doubles

In this part of the country, NOBODY will fill over 2640. Period. I have trouble getting fills to 2640 in a lot of shops, two of em absolutely refuse to give me the final 240 so I don't fill there any more. Yeah, when I go to cave country they ask ya how much you want... but then again, cave...

    Aluminum doubles

Yeah, and if you pumped those tanks that are supposed to be at 2400PSI on up to 5000PSI, you would have a LOT more air in them. You could pump the AL80's on up to 5000 and get more air in them too... just double up the safety blowout things and pump em to the moon.... Yes, I am kidding...

    Aluminum doubles

Not only that, but if you dive some shallower dives and have decent air management you can get two dives out of a tank... I can stay down about 2 hours on a full LP 120 in the local quarry... that can be one LONG dive or two shorter ones (keeping in mind NDL of course).

    tank fills

Pretty much everybody here charges 2 fills for doubles.

    Scuba Economic SitRep

I would say that depends. When you live 100+ miles from the nearest fill station, priorities are different.

Dive Training Magazine article on.... Dive training

The reason is that you can't learn all that stuff in a course that 95 percent of the people would be willing to take, because it would take a LONG time and a LOT of diving just to become certified. Let's look at a couple of the dives you were talking about, night and deep. Night diving...

    Ssi vs padi certification

The dive shop I was trained for OW was PADI, and they have just now switched to SSI for reasons other than training which I won't get into. Bottom line, it's the same instructors, assistant instructors and divemasters, just a different organization. The training will be just as good with SSI as...

Wife is new diver want to be a better dive partner

With all due respect, if your Scubaboard dive count is accurate, you yourself are still a beginning diver... I have about four times as many dives as what you have listed there and I feel like I am too much of a NOOB to offer advice to divers, that's what professional instructors and experienced...

    It's surprisingly hard...

Clarification just so we are on the same page. I didn't realize it was his first night dive (I never asked, should have but didn't)... , and the only gear he hadn't used before was the wetsuit (a rental while his new one is backordered... I didn't realize it was a rental until later...

    It's surprisingly hard...

I felt kind of bad about what happened when I realized what was up. There were four of us, and two of the people there were less experienced divers. One had never done a night dive and the other had only done like one before, so my thought was I would buddy with one of them and BioLogic would...

    Best fins?

I personally am diving the Hollis F1's and love them, I find them more efficient than the Scubapro Jets I tried, without losing any of the advantages of the Jets.

    Pondering different console configurations

I do mine like that, except I clip it to a d-ring on my chest harness so I can see at a glance my pressure (photographer, I don't need a bunch more things to do with my hands).

Favourite Dive shirts - show and tell

I don't have a picture, but I picked up my favorite dive shirt when I stopped in at CaveAdventures in Marianna, FL for some air fills and to get our sheriff's office paperwork filled out for diving Jackson Blue. It is black, has a large arrow line marker in white on the back surrounded by the...

What size wing do you dive with?

I dive a #30 with SS Backplate and 119 Steels. Works for me, wet and dry.

Got paid today, buying a rig!!

Ed's good people. I had a chance to chat with him a while when I was at Cave Adventures last month getting some fills (we were diving Jackson Blue which is just down the road from them). Class outfit.

    Would YOU use these tanks?

I care more about my lungs than I do the cost of two fills. Seriously, there's being a cheapskate and then there's being a RECKLESS cheapskate... Get em hydro'd and get it done with, IMHO
