Video of Lake Michigan wreck dives

I have been to the Straights several times, great diving but the currents and vis can raise their ugly head. I have done most of the wreck there, Carderville (huge wreck), Minneapolis, Maitland, William Young, Northwest, Sandusky, Eber Ward, William Young, Martin Stalker and the Barnum. My...

    Can't decide on a Zeagle

I have seen to many of the integrated weight pockets mis-installed or snagged on something and go falling into the blue. The Zeagle ripcord system is almost impossible to loose weights accidentally. As far as re-stringing the ripcord system if you have to use it re-stringing would be one of my...

How much do you open your tank valve?

ALL THE WAY ON!!! It is either ON or OFF no x/x turn back. That has gotten people injured or killed. There is NO reason to do it.

Trim weights with a more negatively buoyant tank

Having to much weight on your back can cause stability problems because there is to much weight above your center of gravity causing you to want to turn turtle. I would start by loosing the rear trim weights and what ever else weight it takes to equal the buoyancy change is between the two...

    Dodging aches and pains?

I have a folding table I take down to as close to the water as I can get it, most of my diving is in lakes and quarries. Take gear down to the table in trips, set it up on the table and put it on off of the table when i am ready to dive. Saves walking very far in full gear and allows me to get...

    Axiom Questions

I personally do not like the octo pockets on the new AL bc’s. We have them at our shop and the pockets do not seem to keep the octo in place very well. I see a lot of the octos falling out and dangling. The pockets are so far down that many of the divers do not every realize that they have...

    I swim like a U. Why?

You may have floaty feet. If you can try some heavier fins and they help that is a better solution than ankle weights.

Metal Zipper Leaking at Docking End

The bridging fabric that goes across inside the docking end may have been pulled apart by stretching when donning and doffing. I had that problem last summer and needed a new zipper.

What a DiveMaster Can (and Can't) do once qualified?

I do not think in many cases the DM course material makes you a better diver. It is about learning, teaching, demonstrating the skills taught in the classes and performing the duties that may be required of you as a DM. There is very little in the PADI curriculum dealing with actual diving...

    Dive Medical

The RSTC form is USUALLY only required if you are taking a class. I always bring mine just in case but have never needed it for a charter. Most places are satisfied with their Liability Release Form.

    Zeagle Express Inflator Flange Replacement

Zeagle used to be a very customer service oriented company. Some of the things I have heard since Huish bought them indicate that may have changed. If you registered the BC when you bought it they should have a record of it. Contact Zeagle directly and and ask them about the Warranty on a US...

I do not know it it is world wide but when your BC was purchased Zeagle had a Life Time Warranty to the original owner in some parts of the world. It may not have been available in Thailand but worth checking into.
