Suitable bc for the aegean sea (newbie)

A BP/W setup (backplate and wing) consists of exactly that. A inflatable bladder mounted onto a back plate of either aluminum or steel. Most of the simpler designs have a one piece continuous harness much one used for rock climbing. This BC design is very easy to use, highly adjustable and also...

Suitable bc for the aegean sea (newbie)

What kind if BC are you looking at? Jacket or Backplate and wing? They are both very durable and both have their own pros ad cons. What type of diving are you planning on undertaking? Solo? Overhead, wreck or just open water? Budget? -Mike ---------- Post added August 21st, 2013 at 07:44 PM...

going pro with a free divemaster internship?

I been looking around for a 'free' internship here in Australia and I can't even find one. Many here charge $1000+ for a DM internship and as a benefit offer free dives for life, providing there is a spare spot onboard and your willing to help out should you be asked. Good luck though.

Weight Belt AND (Less) Integrated Weight in BCD

On my dive yesterday I had to doff my bp/w and adjust my crotch strap as it had pulled loose (should have checked that before i jumped in) and because i have not put all my weight on my tank straps/harness/pockets or whatever else you can add to your bcd, i found it so easy to doff, adjust and...

My tank nearly slid off my BCD yesterday. What would you do?

Not silly at all! It's good to practice the basic skills. I often spend the last 5-10mins of a dive practicing certain drills, most commonly air share and doing my safety stop without a mask.

Did someone really throw a DM's gear off the boat?!

This actually makes me kind of angry.. DM don't get paid enough to deal with idiots like this.

My tank nearly slid off my BCD yesterday. What would you do?

Depends on the situation i guess. I'd take my bcd off and fix it in situ so I could continue my dive but only because I am comfortable in my skill level to do this. However, in a strong current situation where you could drift hundreds of yards or more even while being as negatively buoyant as...

    Looking at getting first gear

Hey mate, I'm pretty sure you won't have troubles servicing any apollo gear as they commonly sell to LDS around S.E QLD (I have a few apollo bits myself). Mares and scubapro do seem to be the most common brands seen around here, but I wouldn't let that affect your decision in anyway. If your...

In which country/place should I get my OW certification?

The title is what country/PLACE..... Whatever mate. At least provide some advice instead of putting down what other people have SUGGESTED.

In which country/place should I get my OW certification?

Australia is a huge country with lots of different types of diving, from cold adelaide up to tropical queensland. She never asked specifically about diving overseas. So it IS what she asked about. Maybe read her question again?

In which country/place should I get my OW certification?

Diving in Cairns would probably be just as expensive as a week of diving in thailand. Including airfares!!!

In which country/place should I get my OW certification?

Totally agree with you. Plus Byrons accomodation is quite cheap as they get alot of backpackers. The diving there has to be one of the most diverse and AWESOME on the east coast (apart from GBR). If you intend on making a road trip out of it (save $$ on flights) theres great diving along the...

Hey guys, So I dove flat rock and shag yesterday. Great conditions, 20m vis and lots of GNS about. At shag we saw a manta ray AND a baby tiger shark. And yes it was definitely a tiger shark. Is that normal this time of year?? Mike
