    Shark Chumming

Basically, If I was to deliberately burley for sharks (specifically GWS or Tigers) for the sole purpose of being in the water with them and to photograph and watch them off stradbroke island (not in a green zone or near recognized and frequented diving areas, or near beaches) are there any...

Stressed, bloody dolphins await slaughter in Japan's Taiji Cove

Fair point, however I'm not here comparing the intelligence of dolphins to that of 'domesticated' farm animals, but highlighting the ignorance of man to think that we can simply draw a line between smart and simple minded animals and this somehow excuses us from the barbaric treatment we force...

Stressed, bloody dolphins await slaughter in Japan's Taiji Cove

How is the dolphin slaughter in japan and denmark any different to the digusting treatment, inhumane living conditions and horrible deaths that pigs, cows and chickens go through there entire lives while they are being specifically bred and raised for our consumption? I'm not saying what is...

    G'day From Brisbane

Trying out different equipment first is definitely a great idea. Just as a comparison for when you shop around My bp/w is a single 30lb wing with a ally backplate from adreno in wollonggabba an it cost me $350. -Mike Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    G'day From Brisbane

Hey mate, Personally I would hold off on buying regs till you've had a few dives under your belt. I bought regs as soon as i started and within 6 months realised that i wanted something else (ended up getting hog regs). I too am looking at diving tech in the next few years but i'm holding off...

    Shark Chumming

Hey everyone, Please note: The following comments are purely to gain information and to fulfill my curiosity so please don't go biting my head off. So here goes: Would shark chumming in QLD (not in any marine sanctuary or green zone) violate any laws/ would I be in the s*** if I was to do so...

To split or not to split that is the question...?

I meant not as effective and powerful (frog kick and 360's) as with paddle fins.

To split or not to split that is the question...?

Ever tried frog kicks, back kick or turning 360 on the spot with split fins? Nearly impossible. I love my Apollo Bio-Fins Pro Split but after using a mates OMS Jetstreams and feeling how much more control and 'precision positioning', I have ditched the split fins for wreck diving and am...

    Another BPW Question

STA not really required but it does help take some weight off your belt. I bought an Ally plate but wish I had gone with a Steely. I dive singles too. My buddy has a steel an only carries 2lb on his belt.

Reef Hooks - what am I missing?

I did a dive at Byron Bay where a DM cut someones reef hook off the anchor line. Her excuse was 'its banned so its okay for me to do that'. I agree that a well placed reef hook does have a lot of benefit as divers will still have an anchor line to hold onto instead of damaging reef.

Which BC for less than $300??

I am both a traveling warm water diver and warm water diving is my norm. BP/W works fine for me. It's all down to preference mate.

    Integrated Alternate Air Source

Definitely agree with you there flots. When your paying a difference of a few hundred dollars for second stages and an octo you'd think that would be clear enough........
