    Cave class report

Thanks for the reply. I had not considered this. Thinking about going the same route.

    Cave class report

Nice write up. Must have been some hefty 10 days :) One question: why not do ccr directly? I'am contemplating on going exactly his route or go straight ccr. Therefore I'am curious.

    CCR Selection priorities

JJ diver also, also looking for a smaller footprint rebreather for travel. Choptima seems a nice option. Looking into mCCR's like Triton and Sidewinder too for travel also. I understand the difference between eCCR and mCCR, but I'am curious why you would choose Choptima over mCCR? P.s. I fly my...

Emperor Elite - Good, Bad, and Ugly

My experience with them is good. The boats are a little older and not as luxurious a some newer boats, but the costs are lower too. Safety is good, food was good too when I traveled with them.

Full Cave with CCR -- not OC?

Ah, but not where I live.

Full Cave with CCR -- not OC?

Yes it can, but there aren't a lot of ccr cave instructors. IANTD allows it .Maybe TDI also, don't know exactly. Thinking of going this route too.

    Teric for Tech/CCR

With controller and Nerd you don't need a backup. If no Nerd, Teric is fine as backup.

Decompression Stop Guidelines - What we have to do if got deco alert?

What I meant was: it seems the dive center relies on a computer to take the right action. They should have a protocol in place in case this happens, regardless of what computer is used. They should never rely on a computer to take the right action. Neither should a diver, no matter what...

    Oxygen Toxicity risk with Nitrox?

Agree, that concerns me more than a slightly higher PPO2.

Decompression Stop Guidelines - What we have to do if got deco alert?

If I'm understanding this rght, the Suunto locked out for 48 hours. So if she had been diving a Shearwater for instance, which does not lock you out ever, there would have been no problem? If that is true, the dive center seems to have no clue about deco theory and procedures.

    Question Ever experienced Nitrogen Narcosis?

The problem with being narced is: you don't really know how it feels until you can compare it to being not narced at the same site and same depth. Recently I did my first trimix dives at 40 to 50 metres at a site I know very well. I knew I was narced at previous 40 metre dives, but did not...

    Who has had to bailout?

Oh boy, maybe I better sell it when reaching 99 :yeahbaby: Nope, won't happen. Very happy with my JJ.

    Who has had to bailout?

Only practice......he said with 35 hours on the loop  Going for my CCR deco certification dives this weekend, who knows what will happen :callme:

Is it worth to do OC trimix before CCR Helitrox?

Agree, started in february with CCR training. Done about 50 hours since on the loop then and MOD 2 (next month deep certification dives) is still a big step. There's a lot to learn without the burden of multiple stages and deco, even for experienced divers.

    Ascent Question

Yes, take all the time you need to get neutral. Then take steps towards the surface. For example ascend 3 meters/10 feet and then stop. Get neutral again and only then ascend further to the next stop. This makes diving life much easier and way more fun.

Nerd and petrel vs 2 petrel

Why? Knowing PPO2 is important when you're on the loop. Why would you want to monitor PPO2 in the loop when breathing bail out gas? Selecting the right bail out gas (right PPO2) is very important of course. Completely agree. Don't plan to bailout often. For these cases where I have to bail out...

    Looking to Buy a Rebreather

Totally agree with this. I did 650+ hours OC on singles, doubles and sidemount. Shallow, deep, ocean, in land, etc. Did SSI AOW and GUE Fundamentals. For very different reasons I never got to do OC Tech training. Last february I started CCR Mod 1, in september i will finisch CCR Mod 2. My OC...

Nerd and petrel vs 2 petrel

No viz will be a problem with any computer I guess, not specific to NERD imo. Why is long distance scootering a problem in your opinion? Did some scooter trips and I liked it a lot better than the Petrel on my left. Just curious. Bail out is a pita when it comes to NERD. In my opinion NERD is...
